Make up smudging? - April 14th 2012, 04:36 PM

I hate my face so much by the end of the day. All my eye shadow is somehow wiped away. My face looks smudged with different shades of colors. My eye liner smears and makes me look like a raccoon. It looks wonderful when I first put it on, but after words it looks terrible after like an hour. Any advice on how to fix this problem?

Do you touch your face a lot? That can definitely cause smudging. Also, maybe wear a thinner layer of make-up?

Get a facial primer and an eye primer. Those are to help keep makeup staying on throughout the day. I use them and they make my makeup last much longer
Touching your face will make it smudge faster as well. After putting on foundation make sure you set it with some powder as well.

You don't need any special primers or anything Just put your makeup on as you would normally, then close your eyes and spray your face with plenty of hairspray (be careful with your breathing, or be super careful if you have asthma.) Your face will feel sticky and stiff for a few minutes, but just wiggle your nose and stuff haha and your makeup will stay on all day

My mom told me that it's a bad thing to spray your face with hairspray because it clogs your pores up REALLY bad, and isn't good for your skin. I don't really touch my face all that much at all, unless I get an itch or if I'm resting my head down on my hand. Other than that, I don't touch my face really. I normally do this -

Wash my face
put on moisturizer
put on a thin layer of foundation
brush a little powder on
Put eyeliner on my tops then bottoms
put a little bit of eye shadow on (purples or browns)
then I use 2 different kinds of mascara

I agree that spraying your face with hairspray can clog up your pores, but as long as you wash your face at the end of the day you should be fine. Also cleans and tone your face when you wash it. That will prevent clogged pores.
When I used to do dance shows, I used to have to wear tonnes of makeup and the only way I found for it to stay on all night, was to spray my face with hairspray. Even when I was hot and sticky it stayed on

I might try that, and if nothing goes wrong I'll keep doing it. Thank you.

Get better makeup products. My makeup never smudges, but that's because I don't get cheap makeup. Save up your money for the good stuff. Go to stores such as Ulta or Sephora. They make the best makeup. I get my eyeliner from there called Urban Decay (http://www.urbandecay.com/perversion...t=2&cgid=1_500) Also, try to put Moisturizer on at night instead of before applying makeup.

1) Don't ever put hairspray on your face. It'll leave it sticky, firm, and just plain gross.

2) One of the reasons that your make-up probably smudges is because you put too much. If your face is "full of colours" by the end of the day, perhaps that's a sign that you shouldn't wear so much.

Invest in good high quality makeup products, also research whats in them so you can be sure whats going on your face and skin, i'd also suggest an eye primer and face primer. And as for the hairspray idea, i wouldnt; it cant possibly be good for your skin, even after washing your face, after a while that hairspray will get into your skin and cause skin problems for you, maybe even rashes and such, and hairspray has so many chemicals in it that it would prolly damage your skin in the long run. I'd stay away from that hairspray thing.

Urban decay do a brilliant eyeshadow primer. You only need a teeny tiny bit and it keeps eyeshadow smudge and crease free all day
Also, loreal do a great eyeliner. i think its called infallible. Instead of a pencil, its like a stick that you wind up and down. It's the best eyeliner I've ever used; I get very little smudge from it.

I don't wear a lot of makeup at all. I put on very little. But, I haven't tried moisturizer at night. Thank you Also,it's hard for me to get the "good stuff" because it normally is a bit more expensive and we don't have the money for it (it's called a baby, lol). I stick to all of the maybaline New York brand. :/

Use primer and also use a powdered foundation after your liquid foundation

sephora . is your friend . their eyeliner works FANTASTICLY for me. doesn't look super dark. and stays fresh-lookig all day .

get to the bathroom once a day and wipe up. bring a crappy eyelinner to school to just touch up .

I wanna fly. So I do gymnastics instead.

I'll just keep holding on to what i believe and oh I believe in you. Give me the strength for the fight and the heart to believe cause I've got to believe in you. I feel so alive.
