Hair extensions? - April 25th 2012, 10:22 PM

I've had really short hair all my life... it's a genetic thing or something. I've tried growing it out naturally long, but it's really difficult.
I'm thinking about looking into hair extensions, but my hair is fairly thick, and only goes slightly past my chin. Would extensions look odd because of this? And if anyone uses hair extensions, would you recommend them for the purpose of making your hair look longer? To my understanding, a lot of people use them to make their hair look thicker opposed to longer.

As far as I'm aware, many girls use extensions to extend their hair, to make it longer, which is the purpose of having extensions in the first place. Your best bet is to do your research. Extensions could either look really good on you or other people would be able to tell that you have them. Find a local hairstylist nearby and contact them and see if they perform extensions on their clients. Many places don't do that, I know my hairstylist doesn't, but that's because she mainly works with the older crowd.

Re: Hair extensions? - April 26th 2012, 04:23 PM

Hi there! I got my hair extensions for Easter. And, first I wanna say.. if you get real human hair, expect the price to be super pricey. Like $150 to sometimes over $500, depending on the person. I got mine from a beauty supply shop. They sell beauty supplies, wigs, and hair extensions. I had my hair razor cut.. it was to the top of my chest. The razor cut actually helps your hair blend in with the extensions. But, if you don't wanna spend alot of money, you can get fake extentions from a place in the mall like Claires. You just can't straighten them or curl them. :/ lol But, if you wanna spend the money, get your hair razor cut and go look for some hair extensions. Also, have the person show you how to put them in. They most likely will because theres a certain way you have to do it.

Hope I helped!
