Question Fudge Paintbox Hair Dye? - July 11th 2012, 08:01 PM

Here in a couple of months, I'm going to dye my hair completely red, and I've been looking at Fudge's Paintbox Dye in Cherry Bomb or Red Corvette.
But I can't decide if I want the Cherry Bomb or Red Corvette
I've been looking at reviews and I can't tell if I shouldn't buy it (I'll have to buy it online) or if I should give it a try.
I really really want to do this, and I'm planning on bleaching my hair beforehand.
Have any of you used Fudge before? And if you have, how well did it come out, and how long does it stay?

I would go with Cherry Bomb, Red Corvette looks like its more of a magenta color.
And I've heard good things about this brand however red is the fastest fading color so just keep in mind that it won't stay a vibrant red for too long.

Yeah, that's the only bad part, but I kind of expected that for a semi-permanent

Yeah, well sadly even "permanent" red hair dye is pretty temporary.
Just wash your hair every other day, use cold water, and use a mild shampoo. That will help keep the red more vibrant.

I have a color shampoo and conditioner, that should work well too, right? And If I have enough dye left over, I'll mix the dye with my shampoo and conditioner.

Yeah that will help to keep the color as well. And mixing the dye in with your conditioner is a great idea, just make sure to leave it on for about 5 minutes while you're in the shower.

I've never tried this hair dye but I have tried splat's hair color. And I was very impressed. It comes with everything. Bleach, color, tools. For 10$. It lasted me about a month before any noticeable fading. Good luck!

I've also used Splat before. I've bleached it twice and I've dyed it 3 times, but I recently dyed it all black so all of that is gone. But the red needs to be a specific color, and I read from several sources that Fudge/Paint Box is good.

Well I wouldn't take too long of a shower still because even though you'll have dye in your shampoo and conditioner, leaving the dye in for only 5 minutes or so won't completely retain your hair color, it will only help to prevent it from fading too fast. So I'd still try and keep your showers brief, at least until you know how your hair changes after you shower.
