I hate "doing" my hair - July 16th 2012, 05:35 PM

Ok, so literally, I like to shampoo my hair, I like to part it, brush it, and let it air dry. Even if I felt like spending half an hour blow drying my hair (quite frankly, I've got getting things to do with time) it makes my hair really poofy.

I literally haven't straightened it for about 6 months because my hair is finally at a length where it doesn't really need to be straightened. I used to have bangs and my hair was about an inch higher than my shoulders but my hair is now mid way down my shoulder blades and my "bangs" almost reach my collarbones. My hair isn't pin straight but it's straight enough, and it's straighter some days than others.

If I do anything with my hair I usually just put it into a braid or ponytail or I pin my "bangs" back or some such thing.

It makes me feel lazy cause unless it is a special occasion thats ALL I'll do with my hair and everywhere you go (magazines and stuff) it's like you ALWAYS have to have shit in your hair and your hair perfectly done and make up on and so on. But what's the point? I like leaving my hair down and natural. Why should I feel like that's bad? I don't like wearing makeup except for special occasions. My skin is good, I have long eye lashes. So what's the point in coating my face with crap unless I am trying to dress up?

You're exactly right, there isn't any point. And honestly it doesn't necessarily enhance your beauty or anything, many people actually prefer the "natural" look.
I never do much with my hair either, mostly because I'm lazy. So you aren't alone on that, and I know many other girls who also just leave their hair down most of the time because its less time consuming.
So it isn't weird of anything, and it makes those special occasions that much more special if you put some effort in to do your hair on those days.
Oh, and just because girls in magazines look all done up doesn't mean that you need to everyday. Magazines tend to edit their models to an over extent than necessary just because they need to seem "perfect."

And here you are living, despite it all.

I don't like doing my hair either. My "beauty" routine for my hair consists of shampoo, brush and air dry, sometimes I use the blow-dryer. I'm also too lazy to straighten my hair, or curl it or whatever. I brush it, or pull it into a ponytail or braid. So you're not alone.

I won't even curl my hair for special occasions... My hair is so fine it'll take 2 hours just to straighten it and the curls start falling out... It has to be a big enough of a deal to warrant seeing a hair dresser (like a graduation or being in a wedding or something) for me to bother with curls.... Glad to hear some people are with me though

I straighten and curl it ALWAYS. coz I don't have good natural hair like you do!
Mine is very thick and extremely wavy. I can't leave it open if I don't do that stuff

Totally agree! Hate doing my hair! I no longer do anything to it, just nice shampoo, conditioner, and combing. I don't need to fry my hair to look fabulous.

I absolutely hate doing my hair. After shampooing and conditioning, I'm never in the mood to blow dry it, so I usually just let it air-dry (unless I have somewhere I need to be). I guess I am one of the lucky ones who has pin straight hair, though, so I don't have to do a whole lot to "tame" it.
