Split ends? - December 15th 2012, 12:51 AM

Everyone has them. buttttttttt. Mine are weird. I don't straighten my hair, I don't blow dry it, I use detangler, and I get it trimmed every so often. So with that said. I still get split ends, a lot. Like. What could I be doing that dries my hair out so much? O_o I use repairing shampoo and conditioner, but they still appear. SO My question to you is, what shampoo, conditioner, or hair product would any of you recommend for getting less split ends? Since I have tried a few things, so far "hair lotion" works, but that's just a temporarily thing. Any suggestions welcome! Thanks =)

I'll do whatever it takes to be the mistake you can't live without.

Maybe you could try to do a deep conditioning once a week. I know that has helped with my split ends quite a bit.

Great works are performed not by strength, but by perseverance.

I agree with a deep conditioner. I use one from Aussie once a week and it really helps to keep my hair moisturized. You could also try a split end protector like Lissa suggested. They are wax-like and help to keep the ends of your hair sticking together. I use one from Aussie as well.

And here you are living, despite it all.

Aussie "moist" shampoo and conditioner plus the 3 minute miracle have saved my hair from split ends-- and I dye it and use heat on it a lot!

Love you-- Kayla c:

Hey there,

I find that leaving conditioner in for 10-15 minutes helps with split ends, if you do this every 3 days it should help with them and it makes my hair feel softer as well. I'd also suggest going to get your hair cut or trimmed every 5-6 weeks if you don't already. I used to go every 3 months but my hair would become brittle and I'd have lots of split ends within that period of time too so 5-6 weeks is what I'd recommend to reduce them.
