Unhappy Oily Hair & Product? - February 1st 2013, 07:11 PM

I always constantly have oily hair, even after I wash it. I've tried different shampoo and conditioner and I blow dry my hair up off my scalp. I don't get it. It's really frustrating me
And another thing that was extremely embarrassing was when I went to the doctor and he looked at my hair at assumed I had lice because I keep getting left over product left in my hair and it balls up and looks like dandruff and/or lice. Even thought I thoroughly wash my hair every day.
Any suggestions?

I have really oily hair too, and it is frustrating because people assume that you don't shower or take care of your hygiene but what I have found that works for me is Pantine, It makes my hair really soft and keeps the oil out of my hair for about 12-18 hours.

You want to use a clarifying shampoo, those are made to really clean your hair well. You can also get a dry shampoo to spray on your roots to help dry up oil. If you're using a lot of hair products, this can definitely be contributing to your hair looking oily, so try cutting back and see if that makes a difference. Less is always more when it comes to hair products.

My mom has natually oily hair and always recommends this product to people with it:

Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo. It's a clarifying shampoo, and it's very good. A bit pricey, but not beauty-shop horrible, and you only use a small dab so it lasts just as long as a larger bottle. I try to use it every time I'm home at least once to get out residue.

Tea tree oil is meant to help. It's pretty expensive for a small bottle, probably the same price as the above mentioned shampoo, but you mix about 10 drops into your normal shampoo, so the bottle lasts forever. You can buy it at Walmart near the pharmacy.

You could use a little baby powder whenever it gets really oily/greasy. It works totally fine.
