question? - April 23rd 2014, 10:02 AM

I heard about those one wash hair colors which are really famous right now. You apply it to your hair and it stays for a day or two until you wash your hair.
I was wondering if they can lead to hairfall or any other hair damage!?

I"m not sure about what product you're talking about, but as long as it's not permanent it should not be damaging. Permanent dyes will damage your hair, but it should not. It might be different if you have really sensitive hair or something like that, but I doubt it will cause any damage.

I think hair dye like that should be pretty safe for the health of your hair! As Josey said, if the dye isn't permanent, it shouldn't be very damaging. You could see things like dryness, but it depends on the products you use, your hair type, and how long you keep the dye in. Everyone's hair reacts differently, but you should be fine.

Hey Kav,

Semi-permanent hair dyes tend to have less harsher chemicals in compared to permanent dyes. They won't contain chemicals such as ammonia of hydrogren peroxide which makes them less likely to damage your hair.

However, they can still damage hair if used a lot of if someone already has particularly unhealthy hair before using them. Make sure you're taking good care of your hair (e.g conditioning, not overwashing, using protective spray if you use heat on your hair) then they shouldn't cause you any problems

I hope this helped!
