Natural Products for Dry Scalp/Dandruff - February 7th 2016, 08:54 AM

I've looked online at different things to use in your hair. Anyways, I wash my hair 2-3 times a week, I find washing it to much it looks bad, I like the slight oily look cause my hair is thick. Anyways, I read that using baby powder is something you can use if you don't wash your hair... does that actually work?

I have dandruff and I am finding now it's bad, it's been bad cause of the dry winter months, I use Tresemme Shampoo because I like it for my hair, doesn't strip my hair colour out (dye) or fades. But, my hair has dandruff. I've used Head and Shoulders in the past and I didn't like it.

Is there any natural products that would help with that? Or something to moisturize my scalp?

Do you use any natural things that help that you've tried?

I keep hearing that coconut oil is good but I'm not sure.

I also hear that coconut oil works nicely. I've been meaning to try it.

Hmmm, I should test the coconut oil. I do have it. I use coconut oil for a lot of things. Cooking, for the skin, and using it as butter substitute.

I will try it out Tuesday night.

You could try some products from LUSH. I know they're pricey, but definitely worth it since they're natural and most of them are vegetarian or vegan. Plus not tested on animals. I use a coconut shampoo right now from them that's for oily hair and it works wonders. They have stuff for dry scalps too and I think even specific treatments. Though if you find something cheaper that works for you then by all means use it.

wreckage of their life to build something beautiful brand new,
against every odd that is stacked against them.” — Nikita Gill

So I ended up trying out the coconut for my hair. So I ended up putting some into a bowl and then in another bowl putting hot water, so the coconut will melt. I then wet my hair so applying the coconut oil was easier. It was a mess. I put my hair into a ponytail and wrapped a towel around so it wasn't dripping off my hair. I left it in for 45min to an hour then rinsed with shampoo. I ended up needing to wash my hair again the next day cause it was really cocunuty. It actually has helped restore my hair, it's not as itchy as before.

I might do this twice a month. My hair smelled like coconut for a long time. I do feel better.

I will need to take a look at LUSH, I've never heard of them before. Thank you.
