New Hairstyle - July 9th 2009, 03:00 PM

Hi
I'd like to do something different with my hair, something that looks more emo/scene/punk. Something edgy, different. However my hair is very short so I've got to grow it out. It's also pretty wavy and gets poofy and curly when it's really long, so I don't want a lot of length. Any suggestions? (I also don't mind straightening it if I have to)

If you want something different then emo/scene is NOT the way to go.
That's doing the opposite of what you want. That's blending in.

But for short styles that stand out I like this:

OR

On the second one you'd just have the back kinda really short and ruffled up.

These would require alot of straightening however.

I agree with Rhia - if you do want something different, don't try and find an 'emo/scene' haircut - loads of people fit the 'emo/scene' stereotype, so it's certainly not different!
Try and mix up the aspects of a few hairstyles that you like, ask your hairdresser for some ideas - it is their job and therefore they do have expertise, after all.

It does depend how short your hair is, but something like this may be nice:

Do a style that isn't too different. And make sure if fits your face and headshape. I see some girls that have very round heads, they are bigger girls... And they get very short hair. That usually not a very good look for their structure. Get something that is fit for your type.

I went short, and I'm still trying to grow my hair back. So if you have long hair, I'd just cut it at a medium length and get bangs/layers and color it. If you want to go for a funky color, go with purple or maybe blue. These won't fade as bad as the others. Pink is a no no because It looks like poop when it fades.
