Odd Hair Colors - December 29th 2009, 05:58 AM

Any reccomendations for good odd colored hair dyes? I`ve tried Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink on bleached hair but for me it doesn`t seem to stick well where as it stays awhile in my friends` hair.

That's odd... Manic Panic is supposed to work well, but I saw somewhere else that it stayed better on hair that was goldy-brown rather than white... Did you condition your hair before you used it?

Stargazer.

If you want the colour to stick though your best bet is to get it done professionally.

I did a manic panic red.
My hair is normally a dark brown so I bleached it twice to a strawberry blonde.
And let me tell you, it was red. O_O
And my mom ended up flipping so I had to go back to the store and buy black.
So now im not allowed to dye it till I graduate. =/

Anyway, i'll post a picture. But if you want it to stand out. Red will do that.
(Sorry if red isn't really the odd color you were looking for.)

I'll do whatever it takes to be the mistake you can't live without.

It actually stayed better when I had not conditioned after bleaching, before dying. And Cotton Candy Pink I know for sure looks like crap on golden brown hair... that was it after only one bleaching :P

Smart, its a really cheap hair dye that i normally find in wilko's or pound shops... the box looks well cheap but the dye is incredible....

Its effects can be seen in my profile picture, and it stayed that colour for a month before fading, and it still looked good (minus terrible roots) six months later!

I do my hair weird colors (usually red) and I use some stuff by L'Oreal called 'Colour Rays'. The downside is that it only comes in red and fuchsia. The good thing, though, is it works on dark hair so you don't have to bleach your hair. Whenever I'm doing touch-ups (I usually just use the Colour Rays once every month or two to do my roots) I use a brand called Punky Color. The dye smells really good and sticks well to hair.

Also, there are some techniques used in the process of dying that can make hair color last longer. You should try leaving the dye in longer (some people leave it in for 6 hours+, though I don't recommend that!). I usually leave mine in for an hour. The dye also sinks in better if your hair hasn't been washed for a day or two so the natural oils are there. Another thing you can do is use a blow dryer on your hair when you're dying it because heat makes the color sink in better to your hair. If you have any questions, just PM me.

Also, if you want to see the redness of my hair you can go to my profile and the picture is of me That's about a week after I dyed it I think.
