Best stuff for damaged hair? - January 8th 2010, 08:53 PM

my hair has breakage and is really damaged from my straightener.
I use tresemme thermal repair conditioner and herbal essences swirly shampoo, and they aren't doing anything. :/

Tried mayo, that worked OKAY.
Tried cooking oil, that didn't work.
Any really good conditioners or something?
thanks

I hear avocado and olive helps (like mixed together and kept on your hair for like 30 mins - 1 hour)

The best thing would be to have a break from using hot things on your hear, and harsh chemicals, perhaps go a week end with out washing it as well. This would allow your natural oils to come back, which is also healthy for your hair.

unfortunately I have really oily roots, so that's not an option... :c
And do I just mash olive and avocado? Or is that olive oil? xD

You mash up olive oil and avocado together then rub it into you're hair, and leave it. I'm not sure about what amount of what you should use for it, but it should be able to go drastically wrong.

Oo, here's a site with a recipe and directions http://www.divavillage.com/article_a...e=&section_id=

What protection spray do you use when you're straightening it?

Also, Lee Stafford has an intensive conditioner which is for people who use heated appliances.

Paul Mitchell's hair serum works well, I found. I dye my hair, my sister dyes and straightens hers, my mom dyes, bleaches (highlights), and has permed her hair, and we all got nice results from it. It's rather expensive, though, but is fine for everyday use.

Try switching to Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Fortifying Shampoo and conditioner AND the Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition 3-minute Undo Dryness Reversal Treatment
It is rather cheap too

Here is a link where you can read more about those products:

you may also want to take a peak at both of these products in the following links BUT they are expensive:
