Ahh help! - June 21st 2010, 07:15 PM

Okay so I bleached my hair yesterday, its only gone a bit lighter, but then i went over my fringe in purple.. I HATE IT.. it looks horrible

My hair naturally a dark blonde colour, I don't know what to do to get rid of it, I always wanted my hair really light.. but I want to make it lighter, really badly!

So how do I get rid of the purple faster? .. its really dark purple!
& How often can I bleach it without damaging my hair.. I used 30% yesterday.. and it didn't make it as light as i'd have liked.

I would suggest do not touch your hair, you are just going to make it worse. You will fry it out. You are basically going to leave it alone for a while. You could also go to a professional salon and see what they can do or recommend

You'll just have to let the purple wash out and fade as best it can on its own. And maybe try bleaching over it again, but not yet! Too much bleaching in a short amount of time can REALLY DAMAGE your hair! I had different bright colours in my fringe for a while. Purple, pink, blue, you name it I had it. Maybe it didn't quite work out for you! Just be careful when trying to get rid of this colour. The only way to get rid of it fast would be to put a dark dye over it. But then you have NO chance of getting it blonde, safely, any time soon! For the best advice, see a professional hairdresser!

I went from almost black to bleach blonde, and it took me pretty much two years to do altogether! You need to start off slow with bleach highlights all around your hair every 4-6 weeks. It's probably easier to get it done professionally. Because things can go wrong! I went orange for a while... :/ Because your hair is already quite light, it shouldn't take too long to lighten more. And once you have lightened it with bleach highlights for a few months, you should be able to do an all over blonde colour (much better if done professionally, they know what they're doing!).

Don't do it too much, too fast. Because orange, dry and damaged hair is the worst!

Good luck and let me know how it goes! PM me if you need any help, I've had a lot of experience!

It depends on the brand of dye. Some wash out in a week or two, others not for 4-6 weeks. Maybe find out how long your brand usually lasts, and make sure to wash your hair more, preferably with a Dandruff Shampoo in that spot. Colour doesn't last as long with dandruff shampoo.
