Which brand should I use to go brown? - July 29th 2010, 10:17 PM

Okay, so I have decided to go a really dark brown. However, my experience with hair dye hasn't been the best. Which brand would you reccomend to me?
I was hoping to find one that doesn't fade. I currently have red hair and it fades so quick... It looks horrible. I want to avoid lots of fading as much as possible. My natural colour is a dark mousey blonde.. So any tips on which dye to use??

My only advice would be to go to a salon and get it done. I learnt the hard way to never dye my hair myself!

It's fine to have one.
It's fine to be proud of it.
But please don't whip it out in public and start waving it around.
And PLEASE don't try and shove it down my throat.

I always dye my own hair.

I've found the Live ones fade really quickly for me. I usually go with Loreal Feria and they have some nice colours

Maybe try castings or one of the non permenant ones to start dying your own hair with...

I know castings is meant to last 8 wks, but it took 2 years for me to grow it out. If it goes too dark there is a "colour b4" which will remove it without bleaching your hair.

thats what i used to dye my hair a year or so ago.
im back to blonde now, but when i had it it lasted well (with color safe shampoo and conditioner and styling products) for a couple months, then i had to re-dye my roots anyway, so it all worked out.. (:

hope this helps. xx
