Long hair? - August 8th 2010, 07:32 PM

I have long hair. It hits my lower back. My family hates it and wants me to cut it. They say it's nasty. What's your thoughts on it?

If you ever need somebody to talk to pm/vm me.

Well I'm in the process of growing my hair as long as I can. As long as you take care of it It's what a LOT of girls envy and guys like. Kim Kardashian for example. Long hair, but taken care of.

Don't cut it, you might regret it like I did.

Long hair can be fine, but you have to take really good care of it. It's harder to take care of, and a lot of times that means it will look gross and scraggly. If you're willing to put a ton of effort into making your hair look good, then go with long hair. If you're not, then I would take a few inches off.

Well, I do like long hair but I prefer having mine short

If you like it then keep it since, like Holly said, you might regret it if you cut it.

Long hair looks nicer than short hair IMO but it does require more care.

As it grows it will begin to collapse on itself making it less frizzy, bear in mind that caring for it will take longer

I much prefer long hair. It does need more care than short, but worth it. ( in my opinion)

I like long hair as long as it is looked after properly! My hair is sort of about 2 inches below my shoulder so a bit long but I'm growing it

I really do like long hair better this is amazing. I wish I had long hair but my family keeps forcing me to cut this. If I was able to keep my hair nicer, I think they wouldn't mind.

For your, I believe that you should just cut off the dead ends, and keep this long.

Re: Long hair? - August 8th 2010, 11:04 PM

I'm trying to get my hair back to classic length like I had when I was younger. I don't really have a bias as to what length is best, as I've had super short hair cuts to hair I had to move to avoid sitting on and I loved it all. If you want to cut your hair, then cut it. If you don't, then don't. If you're not sure, don't cut it, because it's easier to make hair shorter than it is to grow it out. If your family is just saying they don't like it because it's gross, maybe it'd be worth looking into going and getting a trim to spruce it up a bit? Getting your hair cut (to a larger degree) can be really great if you're looking to change things up, but if you're not sure about it, I say don't do it.

I personally love long hair. I am in the process of growing mine out. Make sure you take excellent care of your long hair. You could even trim a couple inches to even out split ends if you wanted to.
