My mom had told me recently that if you touch your hair a lot, it causes it to get greasy. So maybe that could be it?

I've also heard that. My sister often had greasy hair, but she started using this anti-grease shampoo thingy that's supposed to dry out your hair (Sorry - I don't know what it's called) but maybe look around at the store for something like that? I use Dove shampoo mostly, and it's great. Wash your hair often, but NOT EVERYDAY. I think it's got something to do with all the natural oils getting washed out which causes the sculp to get too dry.
I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Good luck

Yes, I failed to mention that washing your hair too much can result in natural oils being ripped from it and it can cause greasiness. I used to wash my hair everyday now it gets greasy if I don't wash it. But I try to minimize it to every other day so it's getting there.

Don't use conditioner at all if you can help it. Maybe no more than once a week.
Or use a shampoo/conditioner meant for oily hair. Most brands make one <3

Head and shoulders shampoo is good, it does one made for greasy hair, it also helps minimize dandruff which can sometimes be a bonus as-well!!!

Try only conditioning the tips of your hair. If you get too much conditioner near the roots, that can make your hair greasy.

T-sal/T-gel is a good conditioner/shampoo you can use for greasy hair.
Also, if your water has changed (such as it being harder than usual) that can cause greasy hair too. I had this issue and we had to buy a shower head that filters hard water. So you have gray hair and you're only 26
that's just another reason I love you... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

As said above washing your hair too much can make it greasy. I had this problem but if I didn't wash my hair every day it would be greasy and I didn't want to walk around with greasy hair. What I ended up doing is washing it with shampoo one day and the just having a shower and rinsing it with water the next and then use shampoo again. On the days when I just rinsed it if it started getting a bit greasy by mid day I would use dry shampoo.
Also changing your shampoo often will help because your hair gets used to the product and it stops working as well after using it too much. |

Awapuhi Wild Ginger by Paul Mitchell is sulfate free (so it won't fade color), adds natural shine, and gives you moisture with out making your hair feel greasy. Also, do your best to only wash your hair every other day. By washing your hair everyday you are stripping your hair of its natural oils. Your hair is getting greasy so fast because your sebacious glands are excreting oil faster to compensate for all the natural oils that are gone. Wash your hair in warm water, then when you condition only work it through your ends. Then rinse in cold water. This will help seal your cuticle, and lock in moisture. Using crappy shampoo will also make your hair get oily faster. I recommend anything by Paul Mitchell, TiGi, Jocio, Bedhead, and Aveda. If you spend a little extra money it will seriously last longer, and make your hair feel fantastic.

A good clarifying shampoo will help cut down the grease in your hair. And wash it every other day
