Purple Hair

So I'm kind of thinking of dying my hair purple (my favorite color). Has anyone else dyed their hair this color? What is a good brand to use? Does purple fade really fast?

hey, i did a dark brownish purple once. im pretty sure i used either herbal essences or garnier hair dye. it did stay for a while too, i liked it.

I actually dyed part of my hair purple this summer.

I used a dark purple from Manic Panic over my natural dark brown hair. At first it didn't show really well, but after dying it a couple times and keeping it in for longer it turned out better. And was pretty purple. It probably faded after a few weeks.

I've dyed my hair purple before but with it being dark red, it took a few tries. I used Live XL, if you've got that in US, it's pretty good and there is different shades of purple you can pick

this time before dying my hair i washed it around 3 or 4 times.
than put the colour in and washed it out. i didnt wash my hair for a week and a half later. my hairs pretty short so after i still have some dye left than i just add dye in when i wash my hair.
the purple stays in better than red for me in my oppinion.

i have had most colours in my hair, i know its different and everything but next im aimming for green hair

I have dyed my hair a plum colour a few times, and I loved it. The colour stayed in for a long time and I chose a darker one so it wasn't too vibrant and was subtle enough to still be acceptable for my work. The dye I used was made by Loreal, but i'm not sure if they still sell it anymore. The colour stayed in for a long time and just faded out eventually. :]

I think purple hair colouring stays in your hair for quite a while, eventually it does fade out like all hair colourings, but it does last quite a long while.

When part of my hair was purple, I used RAW and it stayed bright for months.

I had purple streaks in my hair all through college, and I recently re-dyed it.

I'd suggest Special Effects hair dye, and if you want the purple vibrant, you'll HAVE to bleach it.

I have purple hair, and like Charlie said, Live XXL is brilliant. If you have darker hair they have one that lightens it as well as colours it so that it actually looks purple. A lot of people have asked me how I got my colour, they've just put any purple colour on dark hair and you can't really see it. I hope you're able to get something similar! It lasts really well too.
