Industrial piercing. -

I want one. How bad do they hurt? I've never had my cartilage pierced before, only my lobes. And how long is the healing time/how painful is it?
"Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it. I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote, “Dear Jim: I loved your card.” Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.” That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything. He saw it, he loved it, he ate it." |

I've heard that they hurt like hell, and they take a long time to heal. Hate to say that to you

I have heard from friends that when they got theirs done, they couldn't sleep on that side/on th ear. That it was a very painful to have done and it does take a while to heal...since it's two piercings etc.

I've had it done, it was like six years ago so I don't remember how much it hurt but I think it was quite a bit. As for healing, it took a while and sometimes I'd accidentally sleep on it which would cause it to bleed a little but I'd say it's all worth it. It's an awesome piercing.

My industrial hurt a fair bit, actually. But the Traguses were more painful for me. But after a week or two, it doesn't hurt so much, unless you hit it, sleep on it, or something like that.
The actual healing time is usually anywhere between 6-12 months, but it may feel relatively healed after 3-4 months like mine did. I highly suggest you do NOT get it pierced with a bar, but rather 2 separate hoops. Mine got pierced with a bar, and it wouldn't heal right, but then I replaced it with bellybutton rings for a couple months, and haven't had any problems since. |
