Research study about social media and risk online. - August 7th 2013, 12:08 AM

Hey everyone,

Below is an advertisement for a research project about social media and risk online. If you are interested in taking part please complete the linked survey.

Quote:
I am doing some psychology research about social media and online risk and I would like to invite you to take part. I would like to give all teenagers the chance to make their voice and opinions be heard. Usually research tends to just ask adults what they THINK younger users are doing online, however it's about time that someone asked teenagers themselves!

The survey takes approx. 20-30 minutes. As a thank you for their time everyone who completes the survey receives the opportunity to enter a free prize draw to win 50 to spend on Amazon and they also receive a copy of their own personality test results at the end of the survey.

The survey can be found here:

All answers are completely anonymous.

Does one have to be a teenager to do this survey or is it open to all members of TH?

It's open to all English-speaking people who are over 13 and have used social media in the last three months.

I'm just doing it.

Did it.

Can't say I'm totally thrilled about the personality test result thingy. It seems like they kind of tell you you're a horrible person if you score low on that.

Chris
I hope you know that you deserve it all. The best, the most honest, the most beautiful purest love in the world. Not only to be loved by others, but to be loved by yourself. To look in the mirror and think "Yes, I'm exactly who I want to be". To speak up and be proud of yourself. To be brave and open. You deserve the nicest and most caring people to walk into your life. You deserve it all, you know. The whole world...

I took it. Thought the gender question was a little backwards compared to most surveys I've taken recently (no 'other' or trans option).
