journal. - May 13th 2016, 10:11 AM

basically i've like decided to start a journal in a 'colour this journal' book. but the thing is what i want to know is there like a right or wrong way to write about things... because at the moment its just like bits of my life and my thoughts like all fragmented together and sometimes its like im basically writing to the book itself... does that matter? i dont know if this makes like much sense. it almost feels like im writing a story but its not a story.. i feel crazy now haha.

Hi!

It's great your writing a journal, I think that's a great way to express yourself and remember things about your life to look back on.
I've never wrote a journal myself but I would say it's entirely up to you how you want to express yourself. When you said you were writing to the journal, that makes perfect sense and you shouldn't feel crazy for having an imagination and a really cool way to express yourself and your life.

There's no wrong way to express yourself. Like it's been said, how you write is entirely up to you. I don't journal a lot anymore, but when I did, I'd write to the book, to other people, or I'd write song lyrics or put pictures in there. Do whatever makes you feel comfortable and happy.

There's no wrong way to express yourself, Lydia. I mean, it's not like you plan on publishing it someday, right? It's for your eyes only, and maybe a select few people. Feel free to express yourself the best you can and in a way you feel satisfied at the end of writing it.

I think it's great you're doing this!

Congrats and starting a journal! It's loads of fun, right?

I wrote in my journal in multiple ways It's perfectly okay to write in it however you like. Journals are there for stress relief and expression and other things, there should be no set order unless you wish there to be.

We all possess resilience, we just need to realize it.

No, it doesn't matter if you switch up your writing style. It's your journal and you can express yourself in whatever way you see fit, whether it be through daily recaps, short stories, drawings, letters etc. What's more important is that you enjoy journaling and find it to be a helpful outlet for your thoughts and feelings.

Lydi, write however you want! There's literally no right or wrong way to put entries into a journal. You can do one entry venting, the next poetry, the next happy thoughts, and so on forth.
