Question Ban question - August 2nd 2016, 02:34 PM

This is just something I've been wondering, because I thought when someone was banned that they could not even use their account, but I can see that some people just can't do most things that other users can. I'm not upset at all just all just a bit curious. Is getting banned or forever thing or how long does it last? And why do people usually get banned?

Re: Ban question - August 2nd 2016, 03:48 PM

Hi there,

You can be banned for violating the Terms of Service, although genuine users will usually be warned first. Spambots are immediately banned when detected.
If a user is banned, they cannot access Blogs, the Forums, or the Chat Room. However, they will still be able to use HelpLINK and Live Help if they wish. Banned users have the same status as unregistered users, they can only access parts of the site that you need an account to use. This is why you will sometimes see banned users in the 'Who's Online' list at the bottom of the main Forums page.
