[edited] keeps calling me from Estonia. - August 30th 2017, 01:55 PM

Hi guys. Quick question. I have gotten a call from Estonia, even though I am sure that I didn't give my phone number to ANYONE. Who could it be? Perhaps the police, even though I am 100% sure I didnt do anything wrong?

Perhaps it's a scam or spam call? I get them here all the time, fake calls saying I owe money to somewhere, saying I've "won" a cruise, you name it. Maybe that's what this is. Try blocking the number.

Hey there, I first wanted to let you know that I've moved your thread over to a more appropriate forum for what you are asking.

It can certainly be worrying and scary to receive calls from a number you don't recognize. This is often because someone is trying to contact whoever had your phone number before you. Phone numbers are recycled, so it is likely. As Dez said as well, these calls can also be spam.

When I get calls from numbers I don't recognize I will let them go to voicemail the first few times, but if they start to call regularly there's two things I will do to sort it out.

The first thing I'll do if they keep calling is just answer. I know it can be scary, but it's often the easiest and fastest solution to get the calls to stop. If it's a person calling who's trying to reach someone else, I'll let them know the person they're trying to reach no longer has this number. If it's an automated message it will usually give you an option to inform them of the same thing, but each company will have different options. You can also often speak to a representative to let them know so they can take your number out of their registry. If that doesn't work or it's simply a spam call, then I will block the number. Although, the process of doing so depends on what phone you have and the carrier you use.

If you are very worried and don't feel comfortable or know how to do these things then I suggest speaking to your parent or guardian to help you.

I hope you get this sorted out soon! I know calls like this can be unnerving.
Let me know if you have any questions or need clarification.

Hey there,
I looked up that number and it says it is from the USA, Fedex. I don't want to confuse you more though because you said the call is from Estonia.

Something that I do if I get regular calls from the same number and they're not leaving a message, i then answer the call. Often times it would be the wrong number and it gets sorted out on the spot. Like it has been said different companies would have different options. Some companies have a digit you can press or an ext. That will take you off the calling list and they won't contact you anymore

Spam and scams usually leave messages from what I know. And if not, often times a quick google search can lead you to finding out if it is a scam. If it is, i would block their number

Most of those calls are coming from spammers or scammers. They might just spoofed the numbers and pretended to call from Estonia. I suggest you to just ignore those calls if you don't recognize the numbers. If you do know the caller, and you don't want to be called, just tell them so (like calls from telemarketers), and they should obey your request. If they don't, you could even sue them, like what I have read at Lemberg Law's website about someone who sued a company after getting multiple robocalls. Hope this helps.
