Purpose of "Blog" from posts? -
October 15th 2017, 01:31 AM
Because I like to elaborate on things, I'm going to start with a back story. Those who read my blogs will totally get it. Anyways, I ranted to a friend (also a THer) over Facebook and it got me thinking of making a thread on here. However, I know I made a similar thread at least once in the past, but could not use the search feature. Instead, I went back to my old usernames, which I miraculously remember.
Anyways, I found one similar thread to the one I want to make on #3 (that's what I refer to the account as) but not on #1. #2 gave me nothing, but it did give me three threads I made that are like "Aha!" and I want to insert them into blogs. However, when I go to click the "blog" button, I get the error message "Sorry, this thread is closed!" which I don't understand. Why have it if you can't use the feature?
Maybe I am totally missing something though. Old people, ugh!

Hey,
This feature does work, but only if the thread is currently open. That's why you received that error message. Though, I'm not sure why the option is there for closed threads when you can't do so unless you are a Moderator.
Regardless, if you still want to put them in a blog entry, the alternative would be to simply copy and paste them. Copying and pasting the thread into an entry will essentially do the same thing. The main difference is that clicking on the "Blog" option will automatically have the text wrapped in a quote tag, but it's easy to insert that manually if you want to.
Let me know if you need any further clarification.

I'm going to go ahead and close this now.
