SAME HERE. I don't agree with it, but if you say anything, you get a bomb dropped on you. How the heck do I know there isn't some guy masturbating to the questions asked in the Sex and Puberty/Pg-13 forum?

I remember one time, I got into trouble. I felt as though all the teens had turned against me and now supported the adult. It was ridiculous. And teenhelp can say all they want about how they protect the site. But they can't protect what they don't know is going on. It's not their fault, but you know what I'm saying.

I personally think that if an older person was here for a nasty reason, they wouldn't put their real age, so you wouldn't even have a clue that they were that old. Everything on this site is monitored pretty well, though, I think. If someone makes you nervous, just don't talk to them.

I think that sometimes, despite what lots of teenagers think, adults can actually give really good advice if you care to listen to them. I don't think it's fair to assume that if they're older, they must be gross pedophiles trying to lure in vulnerable teens. Maybe they just honestly want to help, like a lot of the teens on here do. Like Chelsey said, if they were here for perverted reasons, why would they draw attention to themselves by truthfully saying how old they are?

If there are gods and they are just,
then they will not care how devout you have been,
but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by.
If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them.
If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life
that will live on in the memories of your loved ones."

Hi Sabrina,

I'm sorry that you feel this way about 20+ year old members, but you should keep in mind that TeenHelp is a very well monitored and moderated website.
The website is called TeenHelp as it is targeted at teenagers and helping them with any issues or problems they may be facing, but it doesn't mean that the website is restricted to only teenagers.
I think that if older people want to help then that's perfectly acceptable, sometimes older users may have more experience or knowledge or different perspectives on certain things. As long as these users are not being offensive or harmful then I don't see a problem with it at all, it can actually be beneficial.
Not every 40 year old is a peadophile. I'd imagine that if a predator was going to target someone, it's unlikely that they're going to use their true age. If you use internet safety and report anything you find unsuitable, this shouldn't be a problem.

Don't really understand those here past early twenties, but they do provide good advice. Adults aren't as clueless as I thought they were. As for those in their early twenties, believe it or not, experiences aren't that different. Best way to see it is band members - musicians in their twenties' music really hits a chord for many still going through their teens, but one thing I found out as I'm entering twenties is that those songs are still more than relevant and sometimes even more so as I grow closer in age to them.

I think, well - hope - solid ground finally hits in mid to late twenties at latest...

I agree there are some nice adults that give good advice. CanadaCraig is one of the people that I'm okay with. The great big hug! Thing is funny though =D.

Re: weird - June 10th 2009, 01:15 AM

to be honest, you're going to find weirdos everywhere on the interenet regardless of their age. it's just something that goes with the nature of using sites like this. i don't necessarily think that the older members here shouldn't be allowed, because in reality you couldn't say, "right - past this age you can't join", because then you'd probably just get people lying about their age anyway.

so yeah, basically.. so long as they are here for the right reasons, which i belive most of them probably are, then i see no problem with it.

Now, on every website you go on, TeenHelp, BoyHelp, GrandmaHelp etc, there's going to be someone who doesn't match the site's name. Like, 20+ People on TH, And girls on BoyHelp, and Grandpa's on GrandmaHelp. There's really no need to worry though, as if they say something innapropriate to you, you can always report it to a mod. As most people have said, TeenHelp is a closely monitored site, and if there is someone on the site who is being innapropriate, or is suspected of being creepy, it's looked into and taken care of.
