Arrow What do you want for Christmas? - December 21st 2009, 05:39 AM

WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR CHRISTMAS?

If you could ask for ANYTHING what would you want? Could be material to non-material.

I know this is going to sound really pathetic, but all I'd want for Christmas (and I wouldn't want another gift or anything after this) is at least one day with my parents. Just to know if they're proud of me and what they're like. Hell, the wish of knowing for certain that I wasn't a mistake that was cast aside would in turn give me some sense of self-esteem rather than feeling "second-hand." Maybe this way I can feel what it's like to feel connected rather than alien.

Some form of motorized transport with the means for affording a license to drive it :L I don't care what it is, what it looks like, or even if it'll only do 15mph, if itll get me to work in under 2 hours im all for it!

Re: What do you want for Christmas? - December 21st 2009, 01:34 PM

I simply want a nice day with my family. A time where I'm genuinely having a good, fun time and not worrying about hospital or anything of that sort. A day away from everything else, just focusing on spending time with the people that I love.

Material-wise, I'm getting camera and art equipment, CDs, clothes and such, but I honestly couldn't care less about those things, I just want to be happy for the day and have a nice time.

Merry Christmas, everybody!

Re: What do you want for Christmas? - December 21st 2009, 01:38 PM

I like your christmas wish, Josh.

It was mine for a very long time. When they passed away I had to get over it though I transferred it to other people in my life, and the need to feel accepted really put me into a shell. Nothing really to advise me at the time would have worked but I am not sure, in the end I came to accept myself more as being a part of the world rather than just a result of it. People generally want other people to do something for them and it is hard for us to comply without wanting the same thing. What I try to tell people nowadays is we are like bars of soap. However we feel about ourselves rubs off on other people and makes them feel better or worse for the experience. So the more you learn about how you can make you feel better, the closer you will come to your parents. Or at the very least, that is the idea I came up with. Hope it helps.

Merry christmas

A drivers license would be nice. And a decent running car with it as well.

I would loveeeee one fight-free Christmas. Probably not going to happen, but a girl can hope, eh?

As for material stuff, not asking for much this year. Just new Converse and a couple of books.

Hey Backstart, sorry to hear about that. My situation really though is - I've never known them. I've never had even one moment with them. Being given away - no matter what sometimes your mind wanders to "I wasn't good enough." A lot of people have at least spent some time with their parents, I don't even know who my parents are.

I'd want my family up here for Christmas.. but they live in cali.

So the thing I want that CAN happen is a new rocking chair to rock my son in.

An absolutely kick-ass computer. As it is I am getting a new computer, so happy about that.

To some this may seem incredibly materialistic, but the way I see it we live for the things we take pleasure in, and nothing else. We create our own purpose. And currently, there's nothing more I'd like than to get back into technology and gaming. I'm surprised I dropped it oh so long ago... So think of it not as a purchase, but as an increase in my personal motivation.

Re: What do you want for Christmas? - December 21st 2009, 10:13 PM

I would love to spend Christmas with all who I've lost over the last few years-- Amanda, Dan, Uncle Darren, Grandpop, Carolyn, Poppop, and all the other deceased people who I've known in my life. Also family members who I've lost due to these deaths.

But since that can't happen, I want to completely be aware of the true meaning of Christmas and enjoy the time with my family. I want to keep in mind that my Savior Jesus Christ was born on Christmas and HE is the reason we celebrate.

Material goods wise I really want a camera

I'd love for my mental health to be better. I don't want to have to force a smile on christmas day knowing how much I'm hurting inside. That would be the best christmas present ever.

For something that I actually could get for christmas; i'd probably say a camera. My nice expensive camera broke on holiday and I miss it

First and foremost on the list is to be able to stay together with my boyfriend.

Second, a Christmas where I don't drown in angst and hatred towards myself and my family... that for once they aren't overly critical of every decision I make.

Third... ahh, a new bookshelf, Euros (for Italy), cash (for Italy), gift cards, and Pandora charms. I already got some gifts from friends, and my friend Chrissy got me a wind-up toy... EPIC WIN!

Remember how exciting Christmas used to be when you were little? Well...if I could have one thing this Christmas and only one..I'd wish that my family and I enjoyed Christmas like I did when I was a little kid. No arguments, stress, or rushing to get somewhere..I want to know that my family can spend just a single day together without arguing and grumbling at each other.

And if any of you just so happen to have forgotten to buy my present there's this great guy you could send my way and you could most definitely take his plane ticket lol jkjk

I would love to be able to afford to spoil my parents for all the years I know they've gotten me something when money was tight. I wish I had enough money to get them something big. I know nothing needs to be BIG to be meaningful. But they deserve so much and I know they need to buy essentials that are going to cost a little more than they have right now.

Material wise - I'd love a guitar.

I would love to have enough money to pay off hospital bills and my past surgeries.

I also want to have a nice christmas with my family, no bickering or arguing. And everyone to have a safe, relaxing, holiday.

Material wise-- new shoes since everyone makes fun of my torn up, duct taped, skater shoes haha.

I would really love for some scientist to find a cure for cancer to save my Grandad (and many others).
I really hate the thought that this could be his last Christmas.
But chances of that happening are fairly low so realistically I wish for this to be an amazing Christmas for him in case it is his last.

Material wise I have asked for a camera and a few CDs/DVDs/Games etc.

There is like 1000 things I would like, but the ones Im likely to get are:
a new phone (mines falling apart)
a new MP3 player (I lost my last one in London)
or some GHD straightners
*crosses fingers*

Non material ones would be to know where my grand parents are now

Now there's a question...

I'd want my Dads surrogate Mum who was killed yesterday in the icey coach crash to still be alive.
I would want my Dad to be in good health - no more heart disease.
I would want my Mum to have a good back and good legs - for not to have a risk of cancer.

And similarly - I'd want these things for everyone. For peace, no more fighting, no bullying.

I sound like a cynical old woman - but there you go.

I'm still alive.
Must have been a miracle
It's been one hell of a ride
Destination still unkown
It's a fact of life: If you make one wrong move with a gun to your head
You better walk the line or you'll be left for dead.

I'm a runaway train on a broken track
I'm the ticker on the bomb that you can't turn back
Thats right.
I got away with it all and I'm still alive.
Let the end of the world come tumbling down.
I'll be the last man standing on the ground
As long as hot blood runs through my veins
I'm still alive.
