What's your most prized possession & why?
For me it's my dog-tags. I should explain that I'm a mutt, bastard son. My father ran off on my mother when I was born. I never knew them, but that's still my history - discarded. The dog-tags remind me of the home I have now. My adoptive parents and adoptive name. The ones who raised me. It reminds me of who I am when I'm in doubt that I have a home. Ironically I also have a chain-wallet with the Superman S logo. My biological name starts with S, so it's a chain to my biological routes as well. What I'd like to believe - as I head in 'Clash of the Titans' - I'm the best of both worlds. I just have to come to accept both (kind of like Clark in 'Smallville', he can only become Superman once he's accepted his adoptive & biological roots). "Maybe I just like people. Maybe sexuality isn't one thing or the other. Maybe it's just something that's shifting and moving. I just know I'm not thinking man or woman."
- SHAMELESS. |

Just because you're adopted doesn't mean you're any less of a legitimate person. My father was an alcoholic and abusive. I would have been much better off if I'd been placed in a home that wanted me.
What just happened?

Honestly, my laptiop. My family gave it to me. It has everything - photos, music, videos of my memories. It may seem silly, but it has more meaning to me than just a stupid computer.

One of them is a friendship ring that I've been given from a good friend of mine in middle school. A year ago I found out she was diagnosed with Leukemia and she passed away, I haven't taken off the ring since then.

Probably the star necklace my father gave to me when I was a child because I never knew him. I never actually take it off.

Either my iPod, (sounds superficial, but it's got a LOT of value to me) or my stuffies, Puppy, Doggie and Cowcow. Yes, have your laugh. I picked very creative names.
"Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it. I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote, “Dear Jim: I loved your card.” Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.” That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything. He saw it, he loved it, he ate it." |

Or, a book filled with pictures and messages from the children i worked with in africa. It's lucky. Got flooded out twice, but the ink never ran Just one smile makes you think i'm happy... why won't just one tear make you realise i'm not? x

It's an odd one. The things that bring me most pleasure are my PC (common it seems) and my keyboard, but that's not what you're asking. I could lose all that and it actually wouldn't bother me - in fact I'd enjoy the prospect of starting from scratch.
No, I'd say my jacket would be my most prized possession. Strange? It is really, but if I lost it I wouldn't feel like myself any longer. It's sort of a part of who I am (though my friends have difficulty linking to me with leather, it's one of those little paradoxes). Now if I had to bring one thing with me somewhere, it would actually be my camera, but i wouldn't be able to find a memory card big enough to last me

I have a gold necklace with a cross on it that has a heart in the middle. This was a pregnant from my grandparents who raised me. My birthday was May 29th, on June 10th, my grandma passed away. On July 10th, my grandpa was diagnosed with cancer and November 24th, he passed away. I cant explain how much that necklace means to me.

My archives. It's all of the pictures I've taken, all of my personal writing (poems, stories, essays, and so on), notes that were written to me in school, letters people have written to me, and tokens of places I've been. I try to keep a record of all of these things with a paper trail and digitalizing them on my computer.
