It doesn't matter if you get a real one or make your one, it elicits an ideomotor response either way, purely psychological. But if you really want to waste your time with something like that, go ahead.

As a believer in the paranormal, I would urge you to take precautions when using things such as a ouija board. There's argument around whether they work or not anyway, so don't assume the first thing you hear is correct. I've wanted to use one for a while, but if they do work, they could be dangerous, so be careful.

It doesn't matter whether its real or not though.

I honestly don't think that they do work and if the cup does move, I will always assume it's down to someone else in the group messing with us but if you want to try it, go for it which I'm assuming you have, just be careful though because although I don't believe in it, you never know what could happen.

right firstly do not use an oujia board they are dangerous and usually the spirits you contact using them are not the nice kind and usually troubled spirits who once you've contacted through the oujia board dont usually go away, so your stuck with them in your house and they are very dangerous theese spirits are what you would call 'demonic entities' i strongly suggest you bin the oujia board and seek out a priest to come and bless your house. If you don't believe that ouija boards work, then disregard this.

If you DO believe that they work, however, I would advise you NOT to make your own. You are also technically not supposed to use an ouija board more than once, partly for the reasons misslilchatterbox stated. It's debatable whether some kids messing around can actually contact any spirits, but just in case you really shouldn't be messing around with that stuff anyway.

LMAO!!! Oh for fuck sakes, I thought people ditched this nonsense LOL. Well, make sure when the priest comes over, they're a very short lady, talk in a soft voice and they say "This house is clean". Here's a perfect example of such a person: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWiVQ...eature=related

Have you ever looked into the scientific theories regarding ouija boards or are you too scared to google it? Assuming you are too scared, it's called the ideo-motor response. LOL, christ in hell, you gave me a good laugh.

I agree ^

Hell, this is just idiotic, sure, I have INTEREST in things like farseeing (images of locations far away), but that;s only because I think it might be worth looking into for military purposes, this is just, stupid.

Also, I said interest, I don't believe, but I feel it's worth investigating.

Just be careful. I'm a little skeptical about whether or not they 'work' but as a believer in the paranormal, I'd just like to warn you to be careful I guess. After all, this idea that they work must have been established for a reason.

It has all the alphabet, numbers to 9 "Yes", "No" and "Goodbye" printed on it.

Like a seance, everyone participating puts a finger on a glass/counter/pointer to "channel their energy" for the use of the ghost or demon.
The paranormal gets asked questions and where the counter goes is the answer.
E.g: What is your name?

You could Google "Ouija" Since I don't know much but apparantly lots of myths exist to do with the ouija.

TBH, I think it's a load of crap. Not that I don't believe in ghosts and such, but the ouija is fake

Apparently it began as a silly little kid's toy in the 1890s but others got scared and deemed it dangerous as it may conjure up spirits, even though that was never it's intention nor usage. A kid's game, seriously lol, scared over an old kid's game. It got named "ouija" because that word translates to "good luck", nothing ominous. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouija

Ouija boards weren't even originally made to 'talk to the dead'

Not something I would suggest. If, somehow you get ahold of a bad spirit, it'll follow you around from what I've heard. It isn't worth the risk if you ask me and it isn't the smartest thing to do. I've heard of people who are basically haunted by them and the bad spirits can effect you on so many levels. Research the worst before trying it again, it'll be a regret once you have a bad spirit following you around and doing bad things to you for the rest of your life.

I don't believe that Ouija boards work; I know they work. A couple years ago, on April 31st, I actually encountered a paranormal. After asking her a bunch of questions, I realized that she was actually someone who lived in the house next to ours. After I asked her a bunch of questions, I eventually asked if she wanted to go out sometime and she thankfully said yes. So I'm actually dating her, been dating her for a year almost.

Here's the first picture we took together when we first met each other:

Re: ouija boards work? - April 5th 2011, 06:17 AM

It's truly amazing as well as depressing how many people are scared of a piece of wood, plastic cups and some markers. It's a child's board game for fuck sakes LOL. Don't dare play Clue, Pictionary or even Chess or Checkers, something gets drawn or "killed", yikes! So to those people, be extra safe and avoid ALL board games even if online, avoid all fictional books that have any pictures and avoid all movies, especially horror movies involving spirits or paranormal stuff. Also, keep a phone number of a priest and voodoo witch doctor on hand, you'll probably be using them quite often. Avoid all drawings involving human or human-like characters, even if stick-figures as they may start moving. Lastly, keep very large crosses with you wherever you go and have an iron suit on hand or at least a helmet so nothing can enter your little heads.

So to those so scared about this silly nonsense, the above should keep you relatively safe.

I wouldn't even bother. I don't believe they work. It's just like an 8 ball. It's random, and it's up to you what you believe. But all in all, they are just toys that guess and couldn't give you a direct answer. You have to find the answers in life yourself, not from a toy and what it says.
I would never touch an oujia board either because I've heard about bad things happening to people who use them. It's an object of evil to me, and it's cursed. It's pretty much used to try and communicate with people from the other side so you're inviting ghosts into your house.
I'm not religious and I don't believe in the Devil, but I DO believe there's evil, and I believe it's better not to toy with those things. I believe there's bad ghosts, spirits out there that are better left alone.

My friend and I actually had a really freaky experience with a ouija board and it was before we even got to use it. Now I won't go near them. I honestly don't know if they work or not, especially a home made one but I know the paranormal exists and I don't want to let out any upset spirits.

LOL, you're really making it sound like something for the Ghostbusters or a Hollywood horror movie. You didn't see first-hand evidence because you weren't there, as you say your friends came to get you to see what happened. Before jumping to conclusions, I have 2 things to ask you. First, are you aware the ouija boards were initially child games until paranoid religious nuts came along and declared it did all these things? It was never designed like that and for years it performed as a harmless child's game. Second, you can believe whatever you want but do you ever think of the possibilities before jumping to the silly conclusion? Red hand-prints can come from many things although I assume it wasn't blood but just red.

Chances are, the same conclusion would occur if they came into the bathroom and saw something else that wasn't red nor of hand-prints, just a freaky drawing.
