Well, I know that different staff members have different coloured names, and the colour depends on your primary position. Like someone who's LHO first, but also a HLM will have a teal name.

But do you get to choose which is your primary position? Like, if I was a Buddy and LHO, could I choose to be a LHO as my first job?

Also, who decides who gets to be staff? I know people have to read through the staff apps and make a decision, but who does it? Is it the talent committee?

Well, I know that if you're a buddy it has to be a first position.
Primary is the one you apply for first, if you apply for a second you can either switch to a different primary or apply for a secondary, I think.

Buddy can only be a primary position so you either be that or one of the others as your primary but if you're a buddy you can still get LH and HL access.

The Talent Committee read through primary staff apps and make decisions about who gets to be on staff but Rob and Mel also have a say in this.

Usually you apply for whatever position you want and the Talent Committe/Rob and Mel will look at your application and you'll either get it or not get it. However, I have to tell you since no one told me in the 6 years or so I've been here! You can't have buddy access unless you're actually a buddy. So basically, if you want access to all three positions, LHO, HLM, and Buddy, you'll need to be a Buddy and get the other permissions. (Usually it doesn't take much more than a PM to Rob or Mel to get permission and access to the other staff stuff)

I've done all three, though I haven't had Operator as my primary. For a long while I was a mentor with operator access, then I was a Buddy, and for a short while I had access to all three. Access doesn't mean you need to DO all three, you just can if you want to.
