I HATE MY GOVERNMENT. -
August 13th 2011, 02:26 AM
I hate this world.
It is so monotonous, so boring. Nothing ever changes. It feels like even if I make it to adulthood, everything will always be the same: Bills to pay, taxes to worry about, worrying about 'keeping up with the Joneses'. I feel brainwashed by society. No matter what, I'll always be like very other fucking person on this planet. No matter how hard I try to be different, there is no way to be different. Everyone is the same. I feel like when I grow up, all I'm destined for is to sit at a desk and do paperwork. And even if I was to teach like I want to, I'd be doing nothing but training yet another person to get out 'in the workforce'. It's supposedly such a good thing, yet there are very, very few people that I know that like the way they're living their lives. They're all trapped in jobs they don't even want, because they have to pay for themselves and their families. They have to pay taxes to the fucking government, to own land that the government or a bank can take away for next to nothing with one slip of paper. My family 'owns' a 72-acre farm. My great-grandfather, then my grandfather, bought up the land to make a home on. They paid good money for it. We paid good money for everything that we own. Yet we still have to pay taxes to the government on everything we own -- otherwise they could take it away. And what do they do with tax dollars? They give them to yet more people who are made so poor by taxes that they enforce on those people in the first place. People where I live -- in my entire country -- are about ready to lose their retirements, to lose their Medicare, to lose everything they have earned. Everything they've worked for. And there is no way to be great in this world anymore. Thousands of years ago, people gained fame by being great in battle, being stronger than everyone else. Now? You gain fame by going on a fucking reality show, or being a whore or homewrecker for all the world to see, or making music for a corporation that wants you to make your music a certain way just to make the most money. Even if you're a good person, a strong person, you can't have anything because the government takes away your money to give to other people who are 'less fortunate' than you, who, for the most part are just scum to begin with. The government has to have taxes on businesses. Most people can't afford to get small businesses taken off the ground anymore, because no one has the money to start them, once taxes hit. My dad has spent his entire life caring for and providing for my family. My mom has spent her entire life slaving over a hot stove to feed us the food my father buys. We're being torn apart in this economy, and it pisses me off that our government could be so damned selfish as to take away all the money my dad works so hard to earn -- in a job that he's trapped in. We can barely get by, but we're still better off than some of these people around here. And gay people can't even fucking get married. That pisses me off. The government involves themselves in our lives all too much. What should they care, that gay people want to get married and make a life together? It's none of their business. And I'll never be able to marry because of the old bastards in politics. AND AND AND : Most of the government people in my county are cheating, deceitful scum, and I doubt my county and state is the only county and state in the US to be this bad, government-wise. The county commissioner is known by everyone to be giving his money away to -- not the people who need it -- but to his friends. To people who worm their way into his good graces to get the money -- tax dollars that we entrust to our county to distribute for the good of the community. There is no honor in society. There is no honor in the government. I'm not sure if it's a place I want to grow up in. Sometimes I just want to run away into the woods and curl up into a ball and cry myself to sleep, and never wake up. Right now, I just want to start a rally, a riot, a protest: Anything to get this terrible government off our backs all the time. We're trying to help Africa, but we're oppressed. We're starving. We're dying of sicknesses we can't afford to treat. We have no money. Oh, yeah, and about the starving thing: I know of a family around here who is forced to poach deer with shotguns in order to feed themselves, because food prices are so high, and they have to pay taxes to keep their land before they lose it to the government. If that isn't bad, then I don't know what is. This country is terrible. I want to leave, but I'm guessing that the entire world is the same way. And there is no way I can change any of it, because I'm just one person, and nobody would listen to me, because I'm supposedly too young to know anything. Well, people, I'm here to tell you: I may be only a teenager, but I've heard too many things, seen my mother getting bills out of the mailbox and sighing because she knows we may have to do without in order to pay them. My cousin is in the Marines, and was injured. We can't afford to go visit him often, because we have no money to do it. Because we have to pay bills with paychecks that are a fraction of what they should be, because the governments needs the money. I'm bloody fucking angry, upset, and I'm dreading growing up into this 'free' country. Just as a sidenote, I support our troops, and I love the people of the US. I just don't like the oppressors. ![]() It takes a long time to grow an old friend. - John Leonard |
