Imagine, you are browsing through some profiles and you find one interesting. Would it be weird to PM him/her? I wanna make some friends but I'm kinda shy. I'm pondering over what others will think and all that so I never get things like making friends done. So I was wondering, if PMed someone a hi, would they consider it as weird?

It's not weird at all. I like it when people PM, VM, or add me as a friend because I feel too shy to go on the chat room and make friends myself but I like to talk to people. xD

People post the information on their profiles so others can learn some stuff about the user. It's intentionally meant to have people understand the user and relate to them, so it would be weird if you PMed someone, said "hi", and that person found it weird. However, saying "hi" to a user via PM isn't weird.
I can rip you off, and steal all your cash, suckerpunch you in the face, stand back and laugh. Leave you stranded as fast as a heart-attack.
