Emily is right. In our terms of service/code of conduct, we are not responsible for deleting threads a user later regrets. For the future, really think about what you're posting before you post it, as there is no way it can be deleted once you've posted it (unless it breaks rules, etc).

Sorry <3

There's no way for us to delete anything, all of this was in the terms and conditions which you agreed to when making an account.

The best thing to do would be to remove any personal information from your profile.

You could manually go through all your posts and delete them/edit them to take all the content out.

Actually, a member can only do that up until a certain point... it's either within 24 or 48 hours of submitting a thread/post. After that, the "Edit" button disappears.

Didn't there used to be an option for deactivating one's own account?

Or am I getting confused with Facebook?

Cereal and Milk, as Cara said, you should just try and make your profile as anonymous as possible, so that if anyone comes across the threads, they won't be able to work out it's you in real life (if that's what you're worried about).

You aren’t able to delete content you submit to the forums but you can manage it by editing it. If the edit option isn’t available and you need assistance contact the moderator(s) of the forum which you’ve posted in and I’m sure you’ll be able to work something out with them. Normally posts and threads just die naturally so if it’s not an emergency its best just to leave it as is.

To be honest I don’t know exactly why users aren’t able to delete their own content, it could be a number of reasons such as account security. The Project Coordinators don’t want your account to get stolen and all your posts deleted which you’ve been following.

You can't delete accounts. I think it messes with the system (Posts and threads but no user who made them...) ? Correct me if i'm wrong

Just up and go? No one is going to use past threads against you unless it's illegal... eventually they'll be lost a log of threads (or whatever) anyway.

say your goodbyes and just leave. Remember you are welcome back anytime

Good luck

I'm pretty sure there once was an option to delete your account but they must have gotten rid of it. As people have said, we can't delete your posts, threads or your account. The only thing you can do is delete the information from your profile, change the privacy settings and log out of your account.

Since this has been answered, I'm going to go ahead and close it. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me or make a new thread.
