What do I do when I see a new member?

If I visit the profile of any new member with no Buddy welcome and all, should I leave a welcome VM, tell them something about the site and all or should I leave it for the buddies? When I see someone new in chat I always make it a point to welcome them and tell them about the site and help as much as I can. But what about on profiles?

You're allowed to leave a message if you wish. There's no obligation for you to do so, unlike the buddies whose jobs are to leave welcome messages.

Of course you are able to leave a welcome message! You don't have to if you don't want to, but I think that it is really nice to make new members feel welcome from more than just Buddies.

If you want to welcome them then go for it. Just because it's our job too, doesn't mean that you can't do it either!

You can leave them messages

Personally, sometimes I do if they've been on a while & are active with no buddy message. But sometimes the person only logged on like once, so I just leave it.

You can definitely leave them a message, if you want to! I know I've done it a couple times, if I see someone without a Buddy message who has been on a couple times.

You do not have to, if you are not a buddy. Sometimes I do.
