getting back confidence. - September 11th 2014, 09:01 PM

A year ago I was like badly struggling with my confidence - to the point where I literally could not like speak in front of a large group of people. When I started karate like a couple of years ago my karate instructor questioned if I had like some form of mutism - it wasnt this at all it was more that I just like completely struggling with my confidence. I'm now slowly getting my confidence back after bullies like completely shredded it to pieces.
Since starting karate - I have found myself getting back into education, since going back into education I have now gained like so much more confidence and have found myself talking infront of large groups this is thanks to the karate and to the fact that when I went back into education I was like put into situations where I had to like speak in front of large groups people.
What I'm just like trying to say is that if your confidence has been like completely shredded to pieces you can get your confidence back . I still have like a long way to go with my confidence but it's getting there.

Well done for getting your confidence back!

I too was bullied and had other bad things too and I still find it difficult talking and having confidence. It is so annoying and I know it is holding me back. Funnily enough though, I was also thinking about karate classes

You are a true inspiration for anyone who has lost confidence

Thanks yeah I would tell anyone who's like struggling with confidence to take up karate. It done me like so much good.. I've made friends through it, got some of my confidence back and have learned to defend myself. I now train like two times a week.

It's great that you're getting your confidence back!

I was bullied too and my confidence was pretty low. I had karate before but people laughed at me for being in there too. :/ I ended up hating myself, but I kinda got my confidence a bit back because I spoke to people and they complimented me and built me up again.

It is great for sharing this and you are for sure, as Holly said, a true inspiration for anyone who has lost confidence!

This is a very inspirational post, so thanks for sharing.

I'm sorry that you were bullied, however, I'm glad to hear you've been getting your confidence back. That can be rather difficult to accomplish so this shows that anything's possible.
