I have an anniversary of sorts coming up - October 28th 2017, 08:12 PM

This thread has been labeled as triggering, particularly on the subject of self harm, by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread might therefore not be suitable for certain sensitive users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

So, I know this is going to sound silly but it is a relatively big accomplishment for me.

In December 2015, I had a self harm incident that landed me in the ER and then, the psychiatric hospital. I had to get about 49 staples and, it likely would have been a lot more stitches if the doctor had chosen that route.

So, December 15th or so of this year, will mark 2 years since I have cut to the extent that I have to get medical attention and it has been about two years since I have landed in the Psych hospital.

It has not, been two years, since I have cut but I still feel as though this is an accomplishment since I did struggle with a relapse for about 1 year (August 2015-August 2016) and due to the extent of my self harm it is quite surprising that I didn't have to seek out medical help of any kind for a two year period.

Anyway, I am thinking about doing something small to celebrate this such as buying a bookmark I have been eyeing. I know it's a few months early but I am kind of proud of myself and the other things I have accomplished in the past two years.

Congratulations on going almost two years without being in the ER and ending up in the psych ward! Reward yourself with something big.

Thank you. I might reward myself but it will probably be a small something since the holidays are right around that time and I will need to conserve money.
