So in august of 08 it was around 11:30 or so, i wanted hot cocoa and i usually heat it up in one mug, use the measuring cup to pour the hot water into a mug that has the hot cocoa mix in it already.
My parents had gone to bed, they had been in bed for about 20 minutes and i was making myself hot chocolate and as i began to pour i felt this excurtiating burning feeling i looked at my hand i threw the mug and glass measuring cup onto the stove, i was screaming like i've never screamed before, my hand was puffing up and i had grown a HUGE liquid filled blister on my hand that was covering a big part of the burn, my skin began to peel, i ran upstairs my hand felt like it was in a volcano i was crying and going into shock, so my parents came out of their room, my mom helped me run cold water on the burn, and she left to get me clothes because i had to go to the emergency room, so i took some oxycodone, (my mom wanted me too) and my dad helped me get dressed, when i arrived at the ER one of the residents or nurses i cant remember soaked gauze in saline and put the gauze pieces over my burn, i had my hand up, i couldnt set it down, my hand was shaking. finally i went back, about an hour and a half later the doctor came in a declared my burn as second degree, the nurse came in and put special burn cream on my burn and wrapped it up, because burns weep(puss leak however you say it) i ended up having to change the bandage every 2-3 hours sometimes 4 and whenever i forgot to change it before going for my half day at school i would be in hell it would ache and i would be so uncomfortable, it took a very long time for my burn to heal i still have an ugly scar and some scattered on my hand from scratching the burn(dont ever do that, you scratch off your skin its gross) but the little oval roundish ones are from scratching all the others are the burn. i hopei never do that again it was the most excutiating pain ever, its worse then first degree burning yourself purposly or even when you do it second degree when it covers an area that big, its hell, i vaugely remember being in the ER i remember the saline gauze, the doctor and thenurse wrapping it up. it was one of the most painful thing, among two others. PLEASE people be VERY CAREFUL with hot water.
-Ashley

Ouch
I can feel your pain, when I was about 10-11 I was playing with fireworks and burned my fingers I remember the pain was like no other. Actually burnes runs in my family
Once my aunt was cooking meatballs and she got close to see if it was ready and she got a meatball with a spoon and it fell, so the hot water of the meatball splashed all in her face, 3rd degree...
Anyways I hope you are doing better with your hand

That sounds painful Ashley!

I'm sure we all have done something stupid, but this could totally overlap everyone's! When I was like 5, my mom was ironing, and forgot to turn it off.. and I put my hand on the metal thing that was like really hot.. Yeah not fun! I certainly learned my lesson!

Ashley maybe try putting some cream on your hand.. It might help with the scars. Like Bio-oil, I heard this stuff works miracles.

Good luck Ashley

And I will take you in my arms, and hold you right where you belong.
Til the day my life is through, this I promise you.121109
