4 and a HALF MONTHS SH FREEDOM!!!

I am on a bit of a high right this minute as I have made it to four and a half months of self harm freedom.....its been difficult and have had some humogous urges to self harm...but....I havent.

I am also really happy as I have realised that I reach 5 months of freedom on the 27th of June and this is the day of my last GSCE exam EVER.
Also I will reach 6 months freedom on the 27th of July and that is the day I come back from a tour to Germany with my local maestros choir ( really cannot spell deary me lol)

I say I will reach 6 months because I am going to.....I am beating self harm urges every single time. I have finally found the distration techniques that work for me. Which are to play with these magnets I have, to think and remember the reasons why I have stopped, because of my family and friends, becuase I want to get into a sexual relationship and because I want no more ugly scars. I also surround myself with people when possible and watch self harm support vidios on youtube that give real inspriational talks on why to stop.

I hope everyone recovering from self harm is doing good.
And if you are struggling just think You can do this you will beat this, it can be done. And that goes from any addiction you are recovering from.

That is amazing. I know how hard it is to stop even though I have for over four years still have the urges but that doesn't mean I have to give in. I know you will make it to 6 months then a year you can do it. And if you ever need someone to talk to you can always talk to mwah:]

Hey Elizabeth,

Congratulations on reaching four and a half months of self harm freedom! That's an amazing achievement and you should be really proud of yourself because I know that I'm proud of you and I'm sure that all of the other members here are really proud of you too. It's great that you have found coping techniques for when you have urges and it's also really good that you are beating these urges every time that you have them, you should like a seriously determind lady.

Good luck with your GCSE's and I also hope that you have an amazing time in Germany. You'll have to tell us all about it once you return! Here's to many more high times and many more self harm free months ahead, you're a true inspiration to so many people and have shown that recovery is possible!

Of corse I will tell you all about the tour to Germany...I am sooo excited
After being on the site on and off for a year or two I am well and truely back and addicted to the site agian and my aim is to help people as much as possible after all the great support I have recienved I want to give something back and am so happy to think that you think me an inspriaton Jake thats exactly what I wanted to acheive.

Thanks for the luck of the GSCEs I have only four exams left now and am rearing to go with my extra long summer holiday.

I've been to Germany once before and my dad's best friend who is kind of like an uncle to me lives out there. I was pretty young when we went but from what I remember it was a great place and I remember it snowing plenty when we were there. I'm sure that you will have a great time anyway!

Welcome back to TeenHelp! I'm glad to hear that you're back and that you're well and truly addicted to the site again. It's good to hear that you have received some good support from people on here and that you're now looking to give back to the community. I'm sure there are many people on here who will really appreciate your advice and support that you have to offer after coming through your own struggles. Well in my opinion, you have well and truly achieved it so well done!

Making plans is my thing...lol....I am meeting friends alot and going out for meals with them , I am also auditioning for another choir and getting back into reading. I am also going the south France with my family in late August which means swimming pool and tan...oh yh.....
I am also going to research local LGBT groups in my area and hopefully join one....

So a packed summer hopefully.

I have been to Germany once but only for a few days and it was the black forest where it rained and we stayed in the caravan most of the time.....I am certainly looking forward to going there...putting into preactice my GCSE German skills....the Germans will not know what has hit them ;-)
