Numb... - June 17th 2016, 06:16 PM

I don't feel emotions... I have so many things that are happening to me and in my life, and I should feel all kinds of things, but I don't. I don't want to show emotion or portray myself as weak to anyone, so I try not to feel. When I get upset I push it aside and I occupy myself by practicing or something else. When people ask me "how are you?" I always answer good.... even though I'm dying inside. I act fine but I'm scared to death inside, I'm angry, I'm frustrated, I'm sad, and I'm also excited... but I can't feel anything, if that makes sense.

Hi Hubba! I see you're new here, so welcome to TH!

I'm sorry to hear what you're going through. Do you have anyone you can talk to? Sometimes when you can talk about what you're feeling (and what you're not feeling) it really helps. There's a lot of very helpful people on this site who you can talk to, but I suggest trying to find someone in your real life. Talking to someone face to face is the best thing you can do

I hope it all works out! Message me anytime if you need to!

Here's the thing... I don't have anyone that cares. I'm about to leave for college in a few months and my parents don't know anything about who I am because all they care about is work. I'm surrounded by people that I could talk to, but even though I'm surrpunded, I feel completely alone.... idk

Hi there and welcome to TeenHelp. Feeling a number of different emotions is very normal and it is nothing to be worried of. One piece of advice that I do have is to take each day, hour or minute as it comes, depending on how much you can cope with.

You said you feared death and that is a good thing. If you fear something it means that something in your body is telling you not to do it. Death is the worst thing that could happen and if you do carry that out, everyone would miss you.

If you are feeling like this, then maybe you should try and see a councilor as they will be able to help understand your emotions. When I had to see a councilor to help with my emotions, it was one of the best things that helped me to get over what I was feeling.

If you ever have any questions, or just want to chat you can PM whenever you can.

Take Care

David Armes

always happy to help

keep positive
