How do you stop missing someone?? - August 8th 2009, 05:52 PM

It hurts so much. How can you stop, I can't distract myself because I'm not allowed to leave the house (personal reasons). It actually feels like I'm dying

I know how you feel.
But even doing things to drown out your mind doesnt really help.
As soon as there's even the lightest suggestion of something you link to the person you miss you'll start to think about her, and miss her. (sorry for the hers, but see, this is just what i mean, i put my mind on writing a non genderless text, but as soon as I start to write it my mind slips back to my ex)

It's painfull, it hurts, I crashed completely last night, wrecked every group I started talking to, even wrecked it with people i've known for some years now.
The only people that stuck by me and my rants were my friends, whose advice was to put my mask back on, even though i was broken, and enjoy the rest of the evening. I've been told 100 of times to stop thinking and just think music, Smiling got me warmer responses from people than being depressed, but a solution for missing her it really wasn't.

But eventually the only things that will heal it is time and good positive company.
We can be sitting here for 5 months regretting our losses and breaking ourselves down with unresolved questions, after which we still will need sveral months to really recover. Thats why I decided to skip the mourning, the feeling useless, the putting myself down and focus on the future and positive things immediatly. its up tou you to decide how long you want to miss them, i'm going for short, hard pain.

But there really is no way to stop missing the one you loved, ever, you'll always miss them.

How about exercising? Or maybe watching tv or movies, or listening to upbeat happy music. Draw, write, sing. Join a Roleplay site.

I don't get out of the house often and am trying to keep from thinking about people I miss. I started watching a bunch of shows on Hulu and writing a story now. I cook VERY often. I play with my pets and hang out with my family when they're actually being fun. Talk on the phone if you can, text. join a bunch of random different chat sites. Etc.

There are plenty of things you can do to keep yourself busy inside. Good luck.

Just remember you're not alone. There's people out there who are feeling what you're feeling, including me. If you remember that, maybe it can help you move on.

And there's always engrossing yourself in something like a hobby, a new television show, etc.

So far I've been engrossing in hulu and the like, cooking, and writing. I'm also trying to run again ... little success. Dancing is always a great stress reliever and distraction.

You can lose yourself. Everything. All boundaries. All time.

And just when the sweet confusion is so intense you think you're gonna die... you kind of do.

Leaving you alone in your separate body, but the one you love is still there.

That's a miracle.

You can go to heaven and come back alive. You can go back anytime you want with the one you love.

Ugh that's the thing, I feel like a coach potato when all I do is sit in front of the TV and mess around on the laptop. Yeah sometimes it works but sometimes it doesn't and I'm so wound up about them that I'm urgey, snappy, angry etc.

The same thing happened to me when I screwed up with someone really close to me. I couldn't eat no matter how hard I tried, I lost way to much weight, and couldn't focous on anything. What helped me the most was just letting it all out, crying, splatter painting and listening to music. And sleeping. Sleeping was my only escape. I know it doesn't seem like it now, but you will move on. Things will get better. I promise.

Drop me a PM anytime, about anything!
I would love to talk to you!
