Why Me? Here is a safe space to let it all out, where you can rant about all the bad things life throws your way. Sometimes it just helps to ask "why me?"

One step forward, two steps back - September 17th 2011, 10:04 PM

So, my last relationship didn't end very well and the time since then (over eighteen months now) has had more than a few ups and downs. I've ranted to various people, had depression creep in on a number of occasions, and done a few things I'm not so proud of, but overall I feel like I've been getting better and feeling happier about things as you'd expect. Time heals all wounds and all that.

Well, apparently not. Now that it's dealt with the more fundamental issues surrounding the break-up, my brain has now opened the floodgates on the anger about the way in which everything happened - and it looks like there's a fair bit still stewing in there. So, all the progress I felt I'd made has just been flushed down the toilet effectively, or might as well have been, and now I've got to build it up again from scratch. Which I will do, because I have very little choice on the matter - if I want to get anywhere with my life, I have to do this. But still...

Bugger. Bugger, bugger, BUGGER.

"The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." - Nelson Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom

However bleak things seem, however insurmountable the darkness appears, remember that you have worth and nothing can take that away.
