Rant - November 18th 2011, 02:13 AM

Ok I haven't ever really been in a bad mood or anything these days but I have seen a lot of stuff on facebook etc about how if you don't like something change it, if you can't change it change your attitude about it. And I just have to say what a load of bull! If something sucks it just sucks. You can't take a legitimately crappy situation and just change your attitude to make everything better! The best you can do is attempt to move on but honestly sometimes there is no way around a crappy situation! You just have to sit there and take it! Sometimes for days sometimes for years! All you can do is live your life with this huge cloud over your head as best as you can and yes sometimes that means you need to complain about it and what is so damn wrong with complaining? You gotta let stuff out!
I mean I get that someone constantly complaining to you about something you find insignificant can be a pain in the ass, so why don't you actually talk to them about it then and figure out why it is bothering them so much? If they are always complaining to YOU specifically they probably trust you enough to tell you what is actually wrong if you would just ask them about it! Just try a couple times instead of just turning around and complaining that they complain too much!
I just don't see why optimists have to be so fricken pushy about being happy. Do they think that pessimists actually enjoy being down about stuff? Maybe some do but the majority of us would kill to be optimistic, but its not something that you can just do with a snap of your fingers! You can try for years to be positive but that doesn't mean its gonna happen! I will probably never be an optimist, and you know what, I am ok with that now because I am being realistic, I am not the type of person who can/wants to just change who I am after 20 years to make other people happy and honestly I would rather be a bit of a pessimist than an optimist who is constantly let down because of unrealistic expectations!

That felt good. I am done now.

Wow, that's one hell of a rant haha

I agree with you too. Somethings you can't really change, so a lot of that attitude and view on life stuff, in my opinion, is used more for inspiration than anything else. It's still a good thing to have though as its sometimes given me inspiration to take on things I wouldn't have taken on otherwise. :P
