I muck up all friendships - January 28th 2012, 05:40 PM

AHHHHHHHH

So on Friday at school, I said something that I can't even remember now to my best friend, two other boys were saying things and she looked like she was finding it all very funny. But as soon as I said something she moved tables and has been ignoring me.

I feel like a terrible friend, the worst of it is I can't even remember now what I said. But it annoys me, I've appoligised twice in person and twice via computer and she is still ignoring me. I would have thought she could have been more mature, I mean...if I was in her situation I would just shout at me and tell me what I had done wrong and accept that I was feeling sorry.

So that's that one, and it should be sorted out pretty soon...I hope.

Anyway, here's the next one.

Another close friend of mine is suffering really badly, she diagnosed with depression and an ED and she needs me now. And I left her because her and my boyfriend didn't get on. Admittedly, she triggered me at times, and she made me uncomfortable, but I promised her I would never leave her. Damn it I really messed up. She and my boyfriend argued and hated each other and he told me "It's her or me" and I chose him. But I want to talk to her again, how do I start to do this without him getting mad?

Yeah, just needed to get that out of my system really :') Thanks for reading this

I understand how you mean...I always seem to do the same.

But the situation with your boyfriend and your friend seems to be complex. After all, it's your life, you shouldn't need to choose. If your friend needs you because of her problems then your boyfriend needs to accept that and get over it. People only have one life and your friend needs hope and YOU.

Just explain to your boyfriend that you care for your friend and you're going to be there for her and if he doesn't want to listen then you should really...consider having a break or something..

I know that I should talk to my boyfriend about it. But I don't want to risk losing him :/

Just give her some space and I'm sure she will forgive you in time. You did the right thing by apologizing, and hopefully she knows that you didn't mean to upset her with what you said. I'm sure things will be okay

I just want to say that your boyfriend should not make you choose like that. He should be supportive and willing to work things out since she is a good friend of yours. Another thing is friends will always be there, but boyfriends may not. Just something for future reference.
You really should talk to your boyfriend about this. He shouldn't make you stop being friends with someone. Ask him how he would feel if he was in your shoes.
