Should I do it? - November 2nd 2011, 01:05 AM

So, I'm really curious about if I can sing. I've always thought that I sucked but one of my friends told me otherwise. I'm considering posting a video of my singing but I'm not sure if I should. I like singing, but only do so when I'm alone. I'm kind of afraid to in front of people I guess... especially people I know. Speaking in front of people doesn't bother me and I am able to do figure skating competitions (yes, I'm a skater) without getting nervous. Only singing bothers me-a lot. So I don't know if I should post a video or not.

Yes! If you don't want to post a video, try yourlisten.com where you can just simply upload audio and post it to a website such as this one or yahoo answers (used it many times myself - feels more anonymous, even though registration is required. It just really bothers me when people look at my face while I'm singing if I'm not sure that I'm good yet.). The first time will be hard, and be prepared to take some criticism, but that's what helps you get better. So yes, you should absolutely do it, and let me know if you do =)

I agree with Coal, if you make a video or audio clip of yourself singing, you could upload it onto a website like youtube or something similar and see what feedback you get from it. You may receive some criticism but you'll never know what people think if you don't do it, so it's worth doing it just to see.

Thanks for the ideas and encouragement. I like the idea of just posting an audio clip rather than an actual video of myself. I'll try to actually follow through with this.
