why do all insults involve something to do with sex?

I have noticed that most insults are not very original and they all involve either: sexual orientation (calling someone gay even when they arent), telling them they have a small penis, telling them they cant get laid, or calling them a slut if they are a girl. why do all insults involve some reference to sex?

Because we live in a society that was primarily puritannical at the time of its formation, and so deep down in the psyche of the westernized human mind sex is associated with something shameful, dirty, and disgusting. Ergo, we insult people with sexualized banter as an expression of associating someone with something dirty and shameful and disgusting, i.e. something lesser than themselves.

Keep in mind, though, that a lot of the insults you mentioned can also be said jokingly. I, in fact, have said all of those in jest to friends and family members. So it's not always a real insult.

It's an insult to femininity. If you're at all like a female, it's sadly an insult. Very sad, but true.

It's been this way since the age of the Vikings.

Take, for instance, a common insult to a woman: Flannfluga. Essentially, it's a word for a lesbian that mean 'she who fears the male genital organ'. I forget the precise word, but a common insult for a man meant 'he who is not dominant in bed' or something similar, haha.

Humans are sex-obsessed, and have been since the dawn of time. And we aren't gonna quit it anytime soon, either.

My way of thinking is because either they're insecure about THEIR interpretation of their bodies, or they think they're cool when they call someone gay or bi. Which I really don't understand because its so offensive to those who are, and they have no right to put them into that situation, even if they don't realize they're doing it. Its unfair, and eventually, they will get in trouble for saying stuff like that. You cannot go through life being a jerk and NOT get caught.
