What year, within your lifetime, would you go to and why?

I'd go to 1988, the year I started preschool. I'd be less clingy to my mother, and be more independent like most three year olds. I wouldn't be such a big cry-baby, and make more friends even though my class was rather small. I'd get along better with my sister, so we would have a better relationship today, two and half decades later. I'd also not develop a fear of muppets on my first trip to Disney, though apparently I liked them! 0_o I know, a silly fear, but I'd totally reverse that.

What else, not much. I would say connect more with my dad's cousin, who's currently out West, but he was a teenager at the time. What seventeen year old wants to hang with a three year old??? Besides, we connected some last year, and dad's going to get me his address, so it's all good.

I don't know, there's not much to be done when you're three. You can't change your entire fate at that age, but you can steer it into a new direction and hope it's better.

I would go back to 2008. I'd stop myself from getting into alcohol, drugs, and SH. I would exercise more so I wouldn't be fat now. I would just find better ways to deal with my parents and not let myself change into the person I am now.

I would go back to year 2008. My grade 12 year of high school. I would go to class all the time and try harder to get better grades. I would try to be a bit less shy and hang out with better people. I wouldn`t be desperate and clingy to one certain friend I wouldn`t try to change myself so that he would like me. And I wouldn`t have left home it was my biggest mistake.

I'm torn, I would either go back to my birthdate and make myself wait to be born on time instead of prematurely or 2003 and tell my dad what I knew about Brian to relieve the guilt I've carried since.

I would go to my 8th grade year and change all that I did wrong. Then I would go to my Freshman year and take advantage of what I could have but didn't. :-/

Within my lifetime only? Well then of course I'd go back to GET RICH QUICK. I can think of 3 paths I could take:

#1: Path of a Lottery Overlord

Step 1: In the present time, check winning lottery numbers.
Step 2: Get on the time machine and go back to ONE week ago.
Step 3: Tell my parents to buy the lottery tickets with those sure-win numbers.

Step 5: PROFIT!!!

#2: Path of a Well-Informed Investor

Step 1: Go back to 1998 and win some lotteries to get the money (using methods similar to above).
Step 2: Invest in Google's stocks under my parents' names.
Step 3: Also register the gmail.com/net/org/etc. and googlemail.com/net/org/etc. domain names.

Step 5: PROFIT!!!

#3: Path of a Fraudulent Game Developer

Step 1: Download the best and most popular flash game as of today.
Step 2: Go back to BEFORE those games were released.
Step 3: Submit those games to sites like Armor Games or Kongregate.
Step 4: ???
Step 5: PROFIT!!!

Need I list more? The ability or technology to manipulate time or move through time = endless possibility to gain almost anything and everything in the world.

2008. Id stop myself from getting in an abusive relationship. I wouldn't of let sh get too bad like it did, I would've protected myself better, and I wouldn't have eaten my way out of depression and I would be skinny right now.

I'd go back to high school and redo the whole thing. I would have tried out for Cheerleading wayyyy before my senior year and took music more seriously. I would have studied harder, and built a better life for myself. That way I'd be more financially set for adult life. I would have work on better cleaning habits so my house now wouldn't be a disaster. I missed out a lot on life because I procrastinated. So, I would change that if I could get on a time machine.

I would go back two years and I'd not leave my boyfriend. Then I'd work on the relationship, we'd be wonderful together, like we were the second time except without the breakup, I'd make sure that I acted better in the last six months of it so that he wouldn't break up with me and then we'd live happily ever after.

I'd go back to 1997, just before I started at secondary school. I'd tell myself to not be so afraid, to have a little more faith in what I can do, and also to relax and let myself be a normal 9/10-year-old and not worry about what others might think. That way I'd be more optimistic and happy about being there, rather than being miserable for sometimes the silliest reasons.

Then again, maybe I'd go back to 2001 instead and give my moody adolescent 13/14-year-old self a kick up the backside. Depends how I'm feeling.

I think I'd go back to the start of high school and redo my school years because I feel I didn't do my best, especially when I was in year 10/11 with all the skiving off school and then I'd go college and make sure I picked what I wanted to do the first time and I'd stick at it and then I'd go onto university so then I'd actually be heading towards the career I wanted, not working at Morrisons wishing I did all that.

If a time machine were to be built I would go back in time to the year 2010 and stop myself from making the first cut, if I couldn't do that I would at least keep myself from telling an adult. It was a stressful day because I spent it acting more than usual that I was okay, nothing was wrong, that it was dumb and pointless to cut...however I learned that day how good of an actress I can be, and I believe the past is what shapes our personalities as well as our futures. Maybe I wouldn't change anything at this point because no matter what I couldn't have done much to avoid the basis of problems I had that have laid the foundations for new problems to rise as well as cause me to do things I have regretted.

2009, only because it was a good year for me. It was before depression, the last time I remember myself being truly happy.
Honestly, I don't want to change anything from the past. The past has shaped me into the person I am today. All past mistakes and things I regret doing have taught me lessons, which have in turn made made me a wiser, better person overall.

its amazing how many people seem so.. depressed and fille with regret on this site (no offense). Mind you i hate the opposite to- overly optimistic and saying everythings gonna be fine.
Life comes and life goes, the earth has been here longer and we are helping kill it.
So although drastic i may go back to a time where humans first began evolving, and before they started feeling emotions and etc, i would kill them all and let the earth be. If not, i would go back and change history for the better, by doing the worst (killing certain iconic figures that made the world as it is today)

I used to want to change everything about my life, because I hated the way it ways and sometimes still do. But the more I think about it, the more confident I am that I wouldn't change anything. I believe that everything happens for a reason and the hard times only make us stronger. Taking them away completely would do more harm than good.

But if I could relive anything, it would definitely be when my dad was alive. I'd love to re-remember the memories that I created with him, especially the ones that I've forgotten. I would appreciate those moments a million times more knowing that they were numbered.

September 1999-when I started high school. I go back and stand up to the bullies, I'd hold my head high and be proud of who I was rather than just retreating into my shell and let everyone walk all over me.

Realistically, seeing as I don't want to do over 23 years of my life, I'd go back to either the summer of 2003 or winter of 2004/05.

In the summer of 2003, I would have turned down the offer to meet that person. My whole world wouldn't have been turned upside down because of them, and I think I wouldn't have gotten depressed and become a recluse.

In the winter of 2004/05, there's multiple things.
-Wouldn't let that nightmare overtake me.
-Been more responsible, and aware.
-Not have gone on that forum. But I would have anyways, because I met wonderful people there.

I'd go back to summer before sophomore year and make sure I didn't let all the attention from my ex and my best guy friend at the time get to my head. I lost both of them in the end.
