Smile Royal Baby Boy Born - July 22nd 2013, 08:27 PM

Congratulations to the Royal Family of a new born baby boy! So why is it that people swarmed in front of St Mary's Paddington Hospital to hear the news. Geez can't people let the Royals breathe? They had a live cam in front of the Hospital basically with it being on 24/hrs waiting for Kate to arrive at the Hospital. Isn't that much? I am glad the baby is well!

Re: Royal Baby Boy Born - July 22nd 2013, 08:42 PM

Haha, I actually heard that she was in labor early this morning from an old man in the parking lot of the airport... he said "Just park the car right over there, coffee shops open inside, weather's looking nice, and Kate's in the hospital"
.... my dad replies "....who?"
and the man just laughs and says "The duchess" and we all were like.... " Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

Its so great though, that he's healthy and all However, I agree that the press and news and all of that could give them their privacy. They may be like... royalty and all, but they are human....

I don't really care tbh. It has no effect on my life. Kate and William actually seem decent enough though so I guess I am happy he's healthy.

It's cool because today's my mom's birthday too, but otherwise I don't really care.

I am happy for them. A baby is always a blessing but I wish the media would leave them alone. I mean, let them celebrate the birth of their child in peace. But, I guess that will never happen.

I don't really get why people are obsessing over this and the media is going crazy. I mean, sure they're royal so naturally everything they do is pretty public. But I think they need some space. I didn't watch their marriage and I certainly didn't watch any of the media coverage of the pregnancy/birthing. With that being said, I'm glad he's healthy and I wish them the best.

It has been mental. It is literally all that has been on the news all day :/ that and how David Cameron wants to control porn. I'm sure there's more important things going on in the country right now.

It's exciting. I'm happy for them! It's nice to have a bit of good news in the press rather than all the negativity all the time. I do agree that privacy is almost non-existant though. Which is a shame, because the royal family are very public anyway, and they'll tell us the news when they're ready!

I'm happy them from a family standpoint, but I never really understood the point of all this publicity of celebrities and royalty, etc when they have kids. Maybe an announcement saying "Kate (or whoever else) had their baby," but as soon as it's out that someone's pregnant it's like 24/7 coverage for nine months. Oh my god, no other woman on this planet has ever had a baby before! The only difference is they can shell out a lot of money on baby clothes they'll only wear for a few months then grow out of.

In a nation known for its class war, that we're still celebrating the birth of a royal baby in 2013 is truly upsetting and backward.

I am glad it's a boy. I think if it was a girl, too many people would have been looking for signs that it's a mini Diana. Even if she looked nothing like Diana, people would have been picking out random characteristics.

I think it's so amazing, truthfully. I love babies. I can't wait till they announce his name, but I do agree they deserve a little more privacy.

Why do the Royal Family deserve more publicity for their newborn than John and Mary from down the road? I'm happy for them and all, but I'm happy for any couple celebrating the birth of their child, no matter who they are.

I'm pleased for them but I totally think that the media should leave them alone and give them some privacy.

I don't follow it, I just saw a post on facebook and then looked it up. I don't watch the news or read about it. I am happy that there was some good news in the news we need more positive news!

Well, of course, it's a bit different.

I'll acknowledge that people want to hear about it. However, I would question the sanity of anyone who wants to see it repeated every five minutes on Sky News.

I just had to sit through 2 hours of it on Sky News :') I went over my nan's earlier and it was all she was watching.

At least they actually talked to the reporters and stuff. I was surprised that William was driving the car out of the hospital didn't expect that.

I'm happy for them, what I do t understand it all the negativity going around. Why aren't you just happy a couple had a healthy baby? Regardless if he is 3rd to the chair some people are just so mean.

I totally don't understand the obsession. I mean, I'm happy for them because they seem like genuinely good people and their baby is healthy and all. That's great for them. But, the birth of this baby doesn't really have an effect on anyone's lives except for theirs right now. And it really won't until he is old enough to take up his position in the monarchy. So, being happy for them is about as far as my care about this goes.

I do feel sorry for them though, with all the media attention, it would be hard for them to even get a second of alone time with him!

11 asylum seekers died off of our coasts, and I didn't hear a peep of it in the headlines because the media was too busy being infiltrated by more "royal baby news".
If this fucking absurd bombardment of relatively unimportant news has done anything, it's made me an even stronger proponent of completely severing our political and constitutional ties with the Throne.
