Hahahahahahahha, how funny.
I think if I ever got that I'd probably see it in the middle of the night and get scared.

But yes, you're right, it has got out of hand.
Sadly, that's demand for you.

Uh... well having someone watching you while you sleep isn't creepy at all....

Really though, did anyone else find it weird that Edward snuck into Bella's house and watched her sleep? If all the fans weren't so attracted to him he'd just be a creepy stalker.

Re: Twilight Has Officially Got Stupidly Out Of Hand - August 21st 2009, 12:43 AM

It was out of hand from the very beginning.
Sadly, a friend of mine carries his Twilight book around like it's his bible. He's not even reading it right now, he's focusing on some other book I think, but he always has to have it with him!!! He doesn't even put it in his bag or locker. Has to hand carry it...

Its pathetic. I don't even like the series.
Sorry guys, but it is.

Take me seriously.
I dare you.

I always find it funny that the fanboys&girls don't even try to defend when I point out how dull her writing style is, or how bland the characters are. They still love it.

Twilight was a good read, the movies are like movie popcorn; not great but not bad (though I must say I was laughing out loud at the worst acting I've seen in a long time). People who geek out to the max over things like this are usually lacking in a very important part of their life.

100% agree.

Vampires are everywhere now (First Twilight, now True Blood, Vampire Diaries, blah blah). Why do I need one watching me sleep ...

Sticking with Buffy and the Lost Boys on this one.

I liked Twilight before it got popular, lol. Did anyone think it was creepy that it said "Be Safe"...it's for your bedroom...yeahh....
=p
I have gotten over twilight mania, but I have to say, I can't wait for Midnight Sun to come out. It's the first book, but from Edward's perspective.

LOL I love your metaphor because movie popcorn makes me vomit. No, it doesn't taste bad, it literally will make me vomit a few hours after I eat it.

I haven't seen the movie because it's apparently horrible, but I have read the first book. It wasn't terrible. Definitely not in the best books I've ever read, but it was okay. I just don't like the fan cult going on... especially because I actually like vampire and werewolf stories. Real vampires/werewolves, not ones that sparkle.

*shakes head*, I thought this Twilight craze was over... . Well here we go again with it..... . But for a movie that has generated such popularity, I thought it was probably one of the worst movies I ever saw.

........I have a severe fear of someone watching me while I sleep, I don't think this would help. I'd roll over and see it and wind up in tears every night.

I read all the books, I must say, they weren't terrible. Even somewhat entertaining at times, but they were certainly not worth all the hype that is made over them.

Stephanie Meyer has a very bland and mediocre writing style, it's not that special. And most of her characters are like cardboard cutouts. Seriously, Edward is the most amazingly popular mary-sue to ever grace the earth.

I haven't seen the movie. But I plan to rent it and the future ones some day, and laugh my head off. I can see how bad the acting is just from the tiny clips I've seen.

For the love of all that's good, why another Twilight film? In the first one, the people who played the chick and the chick's vampire boyfriend were probably the two worst actors. The other actors weren't particularly great either but they were a slight improvement from those two.

Well, back to another Twilight cult craze... .

I'm going to buy it, and if my next (and first) boyfriend doesn't have the same height, build and weight, he's GONE!

... Stephanie Meyer has horrible writing tendencies. I've read the Twilight series and nearly vomit every time I see someone mention an over-protective, clingy vampiric nutjob like Edward. If he were real, he'd be just like my single fifty-year old paedophilic next door neighbour... who looks like he's about twelve and gives me sister candy out of his ice cream van everytime my sister passes.

I have somethin worse than the picure of Edward on the wall...

http://team-twilight.com/20090820/ed...hower-curtain/

Do you really want him in you bathroom watching you shower and pee? That is the point when you know you are beyond obcessed.

This all makes me sad though because I read these books when then first came out and they were good books. The films weren't that great but they weren't terrible. The thing that annoys me is the screaming 12 year old fan girls who haven't even read the books and just fancy Rob.

I had to change my ringtone on my phone which I have had for years because it was Supermassive Blackhole by Muse and if it went off on a bus or train I would get "OMGZ Twilight, isn't Edward just sooooo HAWT??? I just love him soooo much!! blah blah blah" It annoyed me so much nd they thought I was one of them, uhhh No! I am a Muse fan girl not a Twilight fan girl.

Well, I have read the first book and I thought it was quite a good read; it wasn't amazing or anything though like some people make it out to be. People who get really obsessed with it are quite annoying. A girl in my maths lessons just would not stop going on about it and it just gets so boring because it isnt even that great! I haven't seen the film yet but I am thinking of renting it out to see what all the fuss is about

Either the entire fanbase has never read a good book (i.e., Harry Potter), or Stephenie Meyer is doing something right in terms of her "boring an bland writing style." -shrug- Just something to consider.

Hahaaa. Twilight, Twilight, Twilight.

Now you can purchase a life-size Edward Cullen silhouette for your wall! In addition, you can always be safe with Edward watching over you when you sleep.
Who in their right mind would feel safe with a vampire watching over them? Granted, he sparkles so that makes all the difference in the world...

The mere fact that Twilight got published is out of hand. It's a book about stalkers, kidnappers, pathetic needy girls, and sparkly vampires. Where's the appeal?

But if you think that silhouette is bad, you should see what else they're selling! I think this one is absolutely the most ridiculous.:

Hahaha, exactly. Man, I hate Twilight.

I'm really surprised they don't exist yet.

Do you really want him in you bathroom watching you shower and pee? That is the point when you know you are beyond obcessed.
Wow...that one is just flat out ridiculous
I'll admit, when I read the series a few years ago I enjoyed them and I was really looking forward to the movie. (Not that Stephenie Meyer has necessarily the best writing technique, but it was entertaining) But now even I'm getting annoyed by all the Twilight fan base and all the crazy "decor" they're coming up with. It's like their promoting his creepy stalkerish features. But hey if people will really buy that shit and it's making money, then why not.

This book is as much of a book as the DaVinci Code is, it's written like a movie. It is written for people who need some drama or action happening every page. It's like, do you consider the Inquirer to be a good magazine? Is the goal of a book to sell? I am not saying that a book like Jane Eyre is anywhere near good, but a book like The Road, where breathtaking writing style and hopeless mood meets tragic plot line, is a good book to me.

His hand rose and fell softly with each precious breath. He pushed away the plastic tarpaulin and raised himself in the stinking robes and blankets and looked toward the east for any light but there was none. In the dream from which he'd wakened he had wandered in a cave where the child led him by the hand. Their light playing over the wet flowstone walls. Like pilgrims in a fable swallowed up and lost among the inward parts of some granitic beast. Deep stone flues where the water dripped and sang. Tolling in the silence the minutes of the earth and the hours and the days of it and the years without cease. Until they stood in a great stone room where lay a black and ancient lake. And on the far shore a creature that raised its dripping mouth from the rimstone pool and stared into the light with eyes dead white and sightless as the eggs of spiders. It swung its head low over the water as if to take the scent of what it could not see. Crouching there pale and naked and translucent, its alabaster bones cast up in shadow on the rocks behind it. Its bowels, its beating heart. The brain that pulsed in a dull glass bell. It swung its head from side to side and then gave out a low moan and turned and lurched away and loped soundlessly into the dark.

With the first gray light he rose and left the boy sleeping and walked out to the road and squatted and studied the country to the south. Barren, silent, godless. He thought the month was October but he wasnt sure. He hadn't kept a calendar for years. They were moving south. There'd be no surviving another winter here.

When it was light enough to use the binoculars he glassed the valley below. Everything paling away into the murk. The soft ash blowing in loose swirls over the blacktop. He studied what he could see. The segments of road down there among the dead trees. Looking for anything of color. Any movement. Any trace of standing smoke. He lowered the glasses and pulled down the cotton mask from his face and wiped his nose on the back of his wrist and then glassed the country again. Then he just sat there holding the binoculars and watching the ashen daylight congeal over the land. He knew only that the child was his warrant. He said: If he is not the word of God God never spoke.

When he got back the boy was still asleep. He pulled the blue plastic tarp off of him and folded it and carried it out to the grocery cart and packed it and came back with their plates and some cornmeal cakes in a plastic bag and a plastic bottle of syrup. He spread the small tarp they used for a table on the ground and laid everything out and he took the pistol from his belt and laid it on the cloth and then he just sat watching the boy sleep. He'd pulled away his mask in the night and it was buried somewhere in the blankets. He watched the boy and he looked out through the trees toward the road. This was not a safe place. They could be seen from the road now it was day. The boy turned in the blankets. Then he opened his eyes. Hi, Papa, he said.

I'm right here.

I know.

An hour later they were on the road. He pushed the cart and both he and the boy carried knapsacks. In the knapsacks were essential things. In case they had to abandon the cart and make a run for it. Clamped to the handle of the cart was a chrome motorcycle mirror that he used to watch the road behind them. He shifted the pack higher on his shoulders and looked out over the wasted country. The road was empty. Below in the little valley the still gray serpentine of a river. Motionless and precise. Along the shore a burden of dead reeds. Are you okay? he said. The boy nodded. Then they set out along the blacktop in the gunmetal light, shuffling through the ash, each the other's world entire.

I kind of agree that Twilight is now out of hand. I work at blockbuster, and were still getting lots of people who want to rent it, and just recently we got the 'New Moon' posters.. That movie doesn't come out for another 3 months! We also got twilight calendars for 2010.. It's getting horrible!

And I will take you in my arms, and hold you right where you belong.

You can imagine the adverts.

"Twilight condoms protect you in the night ... just like Edward Cullen."

I'm pretty sure there'll be lifesize cut outs of Harry Potter, and Harry Potter bandages and stuff too. Twilight was such a hit that they're going to milk it for all the money it can make.

But yeah, that wall thing would scare the shit out of me in the night.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

The scary thing is, I can imagine me being 12 and having an argument with my parents about how much I wanted, no, needed this silhouette on my wall.

let me light up the sky, light it up for you
let me tell you why, i would die for you
