6-Year-Old Girl with Cancer Hid Love Notes for Her Parents to Find... - November 6th 2009, 12:18 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering by the original poster or by a Moderator. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

For any of you Uk'ers who watch Russell Howard's Good News, at the end he always has a nice story to finish it off... This weeks was;

http://neatorama.cachefly.net/notes-left-behind.htm
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33505351/

Quote:
When 6-year-old Elena Desserich was diagnosed with brain cancer, she began hiding hundreds of little love notes around the house for her parents to find after she was gone. Here’s the story:

Just before her sixth birthday, Elena Desserich (right) was diagnosed with brain cancer and given 135 days to live. She lived 255 days, passing away in 2007. After her death, Elena’s parents, Brooke and Keith, found hundreds of notes from Elena hidden around the house — in between CD cases, between bookshelves, in dresser drawers, in backpacks….

"It just felt like a little hug from her, like she was telling us she was looking over us"
Im not sure it belonged here, I guess its kind of a current event, but it bought a tear to my eye, how someone so young could do something like this... Really grasped the aspect of Love aye? Thoughts?

I saw this before, and it is really sad.

My sister literally just told me about this!!
I love it. So sad but so cute. I don't think it's fake.

Awww, that is really sad. However, I do think it is amazing that she was able to think of that and do that for her parents.

I read this the other day, and I think it's true. People say it's fake because they think the parents would have found then while cleaning their house, but someone else pointed out that they probably wouldn't even clean more than needed. Besides, they're in like, books and CD cases and such.

So adorable, but so sad.

It's really sad, but her hiding those notes is so precious! I love how little kids can be so thoughtful. They give me hope!

i saw the comments too about it being bogus. but its not true i think its real. becase i keep a copy of my voice message in a pendrive around my neck, just in case i get into an accident. i just think it'll be sad i she lose her self and i wont rest in peace if i didnt tell her what i wanted for all these years. i think it reflects the love for her parents

I actually saw this on the news a while back, it was a really touching story.

As for those commenters, I disagree with them, I don't think this is fake. I just think it's a really sweet story.
