Man arrested for being naked in own kitchen.

"A US man is facing a charge of indecent exposure - after failing to get dressed before making himself a morning cup of coffee in his own kitchen and could be jailed. Eric Williamson, 29, from Virginia, insists he has done nothing wrong and any exposure of his private parts was purely accidental.

Williamson was making coffee in the buff at 5.30am when a woman and her seven-year-old son walked past his kitchen window in Springfield.

The woman then called the police.

Fairfax County Police spokeswoman Mary Ann Jennings said the woman claimed Williamson then moved and exposed himself again through a large front window.

In his defense, Williamson said: "I'm by myself. So I come down here - the roommates are gone, and it's my house.

"I never had a conversation with anyone, never saw anyone. Didn't cross my mind, came and got coffee. I mean if I stood and seemed comfortable in my kitchen possibly it's natural. It's my kitchen."

Williamson, who is the father of a five-year-old girl, continued: "I am a loving dad. Any of my friends... and anyone knows that. And there is not a chance on this planet that I would ever, ever do anything like that to a kid."

Trial lawyer Dickson Young, who is not connected with the case, explained that "in order for it to be a crime, they have to prove - the state and police - have to prove that he knew those people were there when he was standing there.

"The statute requires an intentional display of your private parts. So if you are occasionally displaying them, accidentally displaying them, inadvertently displaying them it's not a crime."

Ms Jennings said the police would not pursue a case based on inadvertent exposure. The charge is a misdemeanour punishable by up to a year in jail.

Oh the joys of having freedom in the US to sue or charge whoever for whatever. This seems like bullshit to me. If the man was naked, why was the woman walking around at 5:30 am with her child peering into people's windows? Even so, how does she intend to give any evidence without incriminating herself or seeming like a crazed lady snooping around people's windows? I doubt this guy will even be convicted much less go to prison or jail, if anything, the lady should be charged of making false accusations and possibly of being a peeping tom.

I remember this story. They were cutting through the man's yard to take the boy to school. I think part of it has to do with the fact that the woman is the wife of a police officer. The police tried to justify the charges by claiming there were multiple incidents, which seems bogus. I don't know what the outcome was of this. If anything the woman should have been charged with trespassing.

If I were the police, I think my first question would have been "So why exactly were you looking through someone's front window at 5:30 in the morning?", frankly. In any event, this is just ridiculous, and considering he was (a) in his own house and (b) did not have the intention to commit indecent exposure I don't see how this case is going to succeed.

Maybe close the blinds/curtains on the windows, and if he didn't have the neighbors politely request it? I highly doubt he was intending to expose himself like that. I'm going to go with my (slight) confidence in the justice system and hope that the charges will be dismissed.

TWO: The woman has every right to look wherever the hell she pleases, now if she were standing ON HIS LAWN and actually standing there looking into his window, then she doesn’t have that right but the thing is that she was NOT ON HIS PROPERTY she was walking past his kitchen aka she was likely on the sidewalk and his kitchen is closest to the sidewalk, as far as I know the property line ends at the end of your driveway(or you have a property line that goes until you reach the end of the side walk going down from your driveway. she was walking by nowhere does it say she was on his property, like I said the respectful,mature,adult thing to do is to close your curtains if you plan on being buck naked in your house, for two really simple reasons
1. it’s the SMART thing to do
2. You can’t get arrested or accidentally expose yourself if your curtains are closed and nobody can see you

Heed your own advice and read the link to understand more of the incident. I get the feeling though you're going to still blame the man anyways but not the woman. But at 5:30 am, nobody anticipates that a mother and her son will be cutting across your property. In fact, people anticipate most others to be asleep at that time or going to sleep. So there's no reason to close the curtains. If you're that prudent about it, might as well just board up all the windows.
