Re: 5th Grade Football Team Banned From Playoffs For Being Too Good - November 2nd 2010, 02:45 AM

I'm thinking there must be a rule disqualification going on because other teams were undefeated in other leagues and age groups yet they were able to play. The fact that other teams complain that this one is too good, so either they drop out or this one team drops out seems silly. If there wasn't a rule disqualification, then this team must have beaten other teams by huge point advantages. One of the comments on the link (written in all caps) mentioned that there was an issue with disparities in body size and the Outlaw team having players from grades 5 and 6. If true, then it makes no sense why they got to play in the first place because it's a team that has an advantage illegally and that illegal advantage is announced at each game.

If I was on their team, I'd be pretty mad.. They worked hard to get to where they were.. to just have it taken away.

I found this news hilarous...Too good to play? I would be angered too- all that hard work and denied to display them. Other teams being sore losers much?

They could always taunt the other team they weren't good enough to face them...but that would be sinking to their level of poor sportsmanship.

To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the approbation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty; To find the best in others; To give of one's self; To leave the world a bit better...; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - This is to have succeeded. - Ralph Waldo Emerson
