Justin Bieber admitted in a Rolling Stone's interview that he believes homosexuality is a choice, and that he's against abortions (even when the woman is raped) because "everything happens for a reason."

Homosexuality is definitely not a choice. Someone told me he admitted to being bisexual though? Maybe they were lying.
Abortions happen for a reason too. Just wait, he might get a girl pregnant and then realize the importance for abortion even if it is technically killing a child.
If a girl is raped, why make her raise up or give birth to the memory of what happened?

In regards to his opinions, I honestly think it's important to take into account that he's young and religious. Yes, he's 16-years-old, but my friend's girlfriend is a Catholic living at home under strict Catholic parents and strict Catholic rules - and she's 22. I'm not sure what denomination Bieber follows, but his opinions, however ignorant they might be, are currently shaped by that religion, and I would imagine his parents still play a role in what he believes.

College seems like more of a time to explore the world and form your own opinions than high school. Yes, high school students are also forming their opinions, but their opinions are also formed based a lot around their parents and their peers. For example, someone who has parents who very strictly believe one way are likely to strictly believe that way also or to strictly believe the exact opposite. People are likely to side with their peers, also, and be peer taught. This isn't a negative thing. But I think the general opinion depends on a lot more than the individual; it depends on parents, peers, environment, etc. I have seen fewer open-minded high school students (all who think they're open-minded) than I have college or university students, where the student is out on their own and actually forced to think for themselves away from their parents and home environments.

I also believe that Bieber's opinions are simply that - opinions. I don't agree with them. At all. I do find them ignorant, and I do find them pathetic. I find it heartbreaking that there are opinions like that out there when there are people who suffer because of such opinions. But I don't see how hating or disliking Bieber himself for having those opinions is any different than Bieber's opinions, really. Sure, you disagree. But how is hating the person any less judgemental, pathetic, or even ignorant in its own right?

You have to keep in mind that the kid's 16, and he's being influenced by hundreds of different sources. When I was 16, I claimed to believe in a lot of stupid things. I still don't have it all figured out. Not to mention, he probably doesn't realize the full implications of his words - it was the article that sort twisted his use of the word "decision" when it comes to homosexuality.

I don't think he's a bad kid at all. It's not my kind of music, but he seems nice enough and he's got a decent voice. If it were me handling all that pressure, the critics, and all the crazy fans, I'd lose my fucking mind.

What more can be said? He's a young, deluded, poorly educated Christian whose career may be dying out (from another thread where his voice was deepening because he finally reached puberty). I never liked him and this is another reason to not like him. He was on CSI and I think he should stay away from acting (lol at the slow-motion replay). He's deluded and uneducated enough to probably think dinosaurs came after humans and that squirrels are usually high up in the trees because they're helping the universe unfold. I still dislike him but beyond disliking him, I don't care enough to pay attention to what he does.

I don't like Jusin Bieber anyway. homosexualilty being a choice is debatable but i dont believe it is, i think its something you're born with; why would anyone choose to be something so many people are against? (i'm not against it, i know many people who are bisexual and homosexual, i'm just simply saying, no-one would choose to get the abuse they are given in many places)
I'm also against abortion, but being young i suppose i dont know what i would do in a serious situation, specially having never experienced rape.

As horrible as I think it is that he said that, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that is his. As well as that, he is only 16 and I think it's stupid to ask someone that age questions like that.
