Woman Claims to be 130 Years Old - March 27th 2009, 11:11 PM

Video

I was unable to find text on this from a creditable source.

I have a hard time believing that she is that old. There is no proof, because back then birth certificates did not exist. However, if she is that old, I would love to listen to her tell stories.

I can't believe that she can be 130, just doesn't seem possible really.

Some believe that the oldest a human on average can be is 125 years old, however, this number appears to change depending where you read it (http://www.rps.psu.edu/time/humans.html).

If there's no proof that she's that old, then I have a very hard time believing her. I don't consider what she claims to be proof. She has made her claim but without proof, I don't think too many will believe her.

I doubt she's actually 130 years old. I would need to see proof to believe this. But if she were this old.. can I meet her?!

Other than birth certificates, what kind of things can you do to determine a person's age? Any tests, like looking at bones, etc? I know you can get an age range out of studying bones, but is there a way to get a really accurate age?

I'm not sure how they can tell, but at the end of the video it says that her doctor believes that she is 130.

Ah... I didn't catch the part about her passport. Hm..., well... it is strange. They could have written an incorrect year on the password. I'm not saying that it isn't possible, though. Anything is possible.

What are the chances of having a wrong year though?

Having a wrong year does remind me of a situation with a birth certificate that my driver's education teacher told me about. She had a student who claimed that his or her birth certificate did not have his/her name on it. It was a "random combination of letters and numbers". The student actually brought it in and it indeed was. They had to pay about $250 to get a typist's mistake corrected. The only possible guess was that the typist's fingers were on the wrong keys. I personally think they shouldn't have payed for it and I was shocked the mistake had gone uncorrected for about fifteen years.

I have incorrect last name and a wrong birth number on my birth certificate. So I sure as hell believe that they could have made that mistake. And very easily.

It would be pretty cool if she really is that old. But... I don't know. If there weren't birth certificates at the time she was born, there really isn't any proof, so even if she is that old, a lot of people will never believe her.

I don't think she is a 130, but she does seem very very old.If anything, she might be 110. I'd loved to hear her stories though, especially those of WWII

She whispered to her own reflection "I will be strong."

Wait.. if you don't think she's 130, then how did you pick 110? Or is 110 simply a random number that you thought of without much thought to it?
